My dgs facetimed me this morning to let me know that this weekend while he is here he wanted to make valentines for his class. And that he wants to "use that machine you have that cuts stuff". And "maybe some inks and stencils".
Not sure what he has in mind to cut, but if I have a sentiment he likes, we can go from that.
I need help. Last year we stuck crossed Bandaids for hearts on the valentines with "I'm stuck on you". And now I am stuck.
Please give me some ideas that a) I can figure out an image for, and b) will appeal to an almost 9-yr-old.

I've got a pirate-themed kids' Valentine stamp from Studio Calico. It has these sentiments: "will you be my matey?", "I've got my eye on you", "yar terrific" and "XO marks the spot". Not sure if that's a theme you'd want to go with but I thought I'd share!

Silhouette Design Store has a lot of punny print and cut Valentines. You can always add fun embellishments to a print and cut file. If you don’t have a Silhouette, you can download the svg for cutting on a Cricut Explore or other cutter. Another option is to see if there are any that would go with stamps that you have and just type the sentiments on your computer.

"I've got my eye on you" [...] and "XO marks the spot". Ugh, I love these two for the pirate theme so much! I can imagine creating a treasure map with kissy lips for "XO marks the spot". Thanks for sharing! |

Last night I went through my dies and found some that might work, depending on dgs's choice of phrase. Still need to come up with some phrases for him to choose from, though.
Farm animals: horse, chicken, cow, pig Other animals: hedgehog, bear, dinosaur, fox, raccoon Birds: humming bird, penguin, robin
Pie chart that would work for a pizza Big half circle that would work for a taco
Heart dies.

Taco-bout amazing! You've stolen a pizza my heart You're rawr-some! I was going to suggest "you're tea-riffic" as a good kiddo appropriate Valentine pun with tea cups and tea bags being relatively easy to cut. Add some doilies perhaps. |
