Woke up today super snotty and both eyes crusted shut. He's 3. My granddaughter took him to the doctor. The doctor's office was running an hour+ behind so they had to wait in the car for an hour and a half. It was 23* outside. When they got in they tested him for covid. It came back with a possible real light positive(?). So they tested again(in his sore little nose). They couldn't get a result because his nose was so boogery. You guessed it, he had a third test. By this time he's crying and my granddaughter is about to lose it. The third test came back inconclusive(?). He's got double pink eye. A respiratory infection and terribly chapped lips. They gave him something for his lips and eye drops that he has to have 3x a day. He's grumpy, fighting his eye drops and keeps crying. I feel so bad for him and his mama.

When they got in they tested him for covid. It came back with a possible real light positive(?). We were talking about the "light" positives the other day and everyone who had one ended up testing positive without a doubt a day or so later. A nurse friend equated it to being "a little bit pregnant" and if there is any line, you are positive. Sorry the little guy is getting hit with a few things and it's no fun being poked and prodded when you feel crappy. Hope he bounces back quickly.

Oh that poor boy. Being sick sucks. Keeping your granddaughter in my warmest thoughts while she takes care of her little.

Poor little sweetheart. I'm sorry he's so miserable. Hope the possibility of Covid doesn't make him feel even worse. Poor mommie too. I wish them both well.

Have him close his eyes, put the drops on the inside corner of his eyelid , when he opens his eyes the drops will go in on their own.
I hope he feels better soon!

My at-home tests say even a faint positive is a positive. Hope he’s feeling better soon, poor little guy.

The poor little thing. I hope that he recovers quickly.
And yes, I agree with another poster - we are told in Aus that even the faintest of lines is positive.

Oh those nasal swabs are so hard for the little ones! My 2-y-o GS had a doctor doing the swab who was over zealous and gave the little guy a nosebleed. It was awful for the baby and probably worse for my son to endure. I’m sorry your ggs had to go through all that waiting and then the repeated swabs. Please let us know how he’s doing. Big hugs to ggm , too!

Poor guy. I hope he heals quickly.
Just an interesting tip. My son used to get pink eye all the time when he was younger. I called the pharmacy once on the weekend to ask if they had any effective OTC drops. The pharmacist said that the OTC drops weren't highly reliable and ds would probably need a prescription. He said in the meantime, his parents from China used to use black tea. You make extra strong tea, dip a washcloth in the black tea and apply to your eyes. Do it three times a day with fresh tea (warm not hot) and a fresh cloth. It worked like a charm! We used this every, single time. It worked every time.
