You might like to try the sandwich on the link below using home baked bread and home made butter. I been following a gentleman called John Kirkwood on U tube. He is a retired chef and does great easy to follow videos of British classic meals. He also gives tried and tested tips that even an experienced cook might find interesting. I do make butter and especially love Marmite butter. I have yet to try the bread recipe as I can`t stand for long at the moment., but I will try soon. Really need a BLT sandwich now. enjoy and please let me know if you try making any of his food. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NiuIIKOWbU

YES!! But I don't usually make them at home. My DD lives in Birmingham and a visit rarely goes by that I don't visit Jack's to get one of theirs. I think they are only in the south. Maybe only in Alabama. I just know we don't have them where I live or I might have one daily. Maybe only once a week. But it would be in my live on the reg.
I'll watch your YT video later when I don't have the possibly of drooling on my financials.

Is there anyone who does not know what a BLT is? I would be a little surprised someone didn't know - but in case you are asking because you don't know it is a Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato sandwich.

Fabulous!!! I think I’ll be making my own butter now that I see how easy it is. It could be fun to make some! I eat a ABT almost daily. Avocado, bacon & tomato.

I like carrot bacon BLT's and sometimes, if I have an eggplant to use up, I will make it with eggplant.

I mix a little Dijon mustard into the Mayo and it really enhanced the flavor. Butter sounds interesting. Unfortunately bacon/BLT haven’t been good for me since Covid (or fortunately because the price of bacon! Lol).

There are few things in life that aren't better with bacon, especially if somebody else cooks it for me.

I'm really picky but I love Pioneer Woman's BLT (although she calls it a club.. which I think is the same.) www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a11664/killer-club-sandwich/ACTUALLY I realized they are two different kinds of sandwiches.. HAHA.. brain fart... I'll keep it posted though.. It's the pesto mayo sauce that I LOVE on this one. And since I am picky I make a plain version of it.

When I was eating meat I loved them. I used to get sliced slab bacon at the deli and I would have them cut it super thin. I would bake it in the oven until it was just the right crispness. It would just melt in your mouth. And because it was so thin, I would put like 10 pieces on. With the ripples of the bacon, it really made a big pile on my sammy.
Speaking of slab bacon, I would always get it that way for my corn chowder, too. I would have them cut it about 1/4" thick, then I would cube it. Soooo yummy!

I loved his butter tutorial and might give it a try. But where do I start with his BLT? - the bread wasn't toasted
- the bread wasn't sourdough
- thicker slices of tomato needed
- bacon not even close to crisp enough
- twice as much bacon as needed IMHO
I usually put mayo & Dijon on ours, so will give him a pass on the butter and hot sauce.

One of the best things in the world is a bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomato sandwich. With an aioli or plenty of mayo. Soooo good. I just need to perfect making fried green tomatoes at home.

My mom's favorite sandwich was an LT, with tomatoes out of the garden.

Yes I like a classic BLT - which in my mind needs mayo not butter.
But I also like a BBLT Burrata Bacon lettuce & tomato with fresh basil & a drizzle of balsamic
First you make the sandwich much like in the video. But you build it opposite bacon on the bottom then lettuce then tomato. Yes cross cross ( or weave ) the bacon! Then you break open a small ball of burrata over the top add salt, pepper, fresh basil & a drizzle of balsamic
So good
