Happy Wednesday! Here's my stash busting challenge for today: use the oldest item in your stash! This Little Yellow Bicycle Traveler's Collection is the oldest stuff in my stash (circa 2006). Honestly, I probably have something older but this is the oldest most intact paper pack I have. And the twist: use something new in your stash with the layout (or card, whatever you're making). I used some new to me travel stickers from Everyday Explorers, puffy stickers from Amy Tangerine and enamel dots from Shimelle (the last 2 are new to me because I just bought them at Joann's last week LOL).
grammadee has included an incentive for all Quarter ONE team players: If you are on a team, you can earn FIVE points for meeting this challenge, with a TWO POINT BONUS for also meeting the twist on this same project. It was not previously stated in the Quarter One challenges list, or in gramma's spreadsheet, but if you can complete ALL of the 28-4-28 challenges by the end of this quarter, you can earn a BONUS of 280 points!

What a fun challenge and twist! One good thing about digital supplies is that I can easily find the oldest and the newest items in my stash, because it shows the "date added".

Hmmmm... LYB? BG? To be honest it would have to be Creating Memories or CTMH... This might require some digging.
I love what you have been doing with that LYB travel line. I have some of that myself, waiting patiently in my travel bin.

That's a challenge just to find my oldest items! Chatterbox? Old Scenic Route?

jediannie than you for the busting challenge. Lovely colors and gorgeous picture. Well this turned out interesting ... I used the corner mounts that were my oldest thing as far as I can determine. They're Creative Memories and I've had them for 25 years. That was perfect because I was not going to glue down my mid century photo and card. So every time I put the card in the upper left I hated my page. Maybe because I wanted it to be all about the photo with my brothers and sister and we read left to right so I "saw" the card first? So I like the card where it is. My newest item is my snowman stamp a friend gave me a week or so ago. The tape runner with the poinsettias is from December just in case a stamp "doesn't count". If I can get better picture without shadows I'll swap it out.

I was able to find scraps from a 2012 collection (Declaration from Pink Paislee) that worked really well with the photos I wanted to use. The "new" item as my twist isn't very compelling - the journaling pen is a replacement for one that had dried out.

jjpeapea - another great layout! I like the placement of the card, I can see what you mean about not liking it on the left. And I would count both the tape runner and the stamp as new so you got the challenge as far as I'm concerned. Ryann - that paper is perfect for your photos! Such a cute layout! I remember when Safeway employees used to wear that uniform.

jediannie, thank you for this challenge. I left love in your gallery. That photo and the way you scrapped it needs to be a page in a travel brochure! jjpeapea, I love that midcentury photo. I have a lot of those. What a cute way to bring it to a modern scrapbook page. I love the background paper and the use of the card for your title. But the photo is the star. So delightful. Ryann, you have love in the gallery. I love your half and half page and love the photos and story behind it. I have done a big purge and got rid of a lot of my very old paper, but I held on to some blue Pebbles paper I bought back before AC acquired them. It has no branding strip but I bought it while my DD was working at Pebbles in my Pocket. That was in 1998. I bought a lot of it to make baby cards and still have a couple of sheets. My newer paper is from a Christmas collection I bought recently. Hunter

nylene - I had that paper! I love the monochromatic look of the page, it really makes the photos stand out!

I had a sheet of floral vellum left over from the days I scrapbooked 8-1/2 x 11, so I used it on this layout. It's more than 20 years old. I didn't add journaling because I have other pages about my time at this cabin. It still feels unfinished, so I'm open to suggestions. I'm not used to this much white space, LOL.

Ryann look at your young self! What a precious memory. My mom got us an Olan Mills package deal, so I took my babies to Olan Mills every month for a year or so. Those photos are so sweet to look at. The colors and geometry of your paper looks great with your uniform. I like the three photos with the different facial expressions. So cute. thracian so good - the floral vellum looks so good complementing the flowers in the photo, the blue mat highlighting your clothes, the interesting angle of the photo, your embellishment flowers looking great with your floral vellum. Maybe others will have suggestions? I think it has a good balance of white/photo/items.

Phenomenal memories by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr I consider my oldest stuff in my stash to be the items I have stolen from my mom's stash... she started scrapbooking in the 2000's. This basketball paper was taken from her stash, lol, she doesn't mind if I borrow from her she mainly does cardmaking and cricut stuff now.

scrappyrabbit - great use of the basketball paper. I like how you incorporated it with the other side of the layout. I have a hard time with themed papers like that.

This is sooooo old...I mean, this paper is like from the 90's...So when I started scrapbooking, my boss at the time gave me a bunch of Mary Engelbreit's paper stuff, along with a set of stamps, the foam kind that you broke apart, remember those? I had one sheet left, so I made a couple of cards. OMG this paper is BUSY! I just went looking online and holy cow, a kit I was thinking about getting with her stuff in it like 15 or so years ago is 299.99... 51855455-9E1A-47DB-A129-ED3F93E66289 by K Mage, on Flickr

This was such a fun challenge! I got to use the oldest kit in my stash - Orange Crush by Lynn Grieveson. I bought it YEARS before I even started digital scrapping. The file is dated May 2008. Which is perfect, because the photos are also from 2008. Apart from having a play around in Photoshop, I didn't start properly scrapping digitally until September 2018, more than 10 years later! For the twist, I added a few bits and pieces from the most recent four kits I bought this month, by Lynn Grieveson, Aziko, and Just Jaimee.

kitbop - you would never know you used stuff that's almost 20 years old! Everything goes so well with the photo. kmage - you REALLY busted out the oldies but goodies! These cards are so super cute! I hope you're not regretting making cards out of the paper that you could have sold for $$$$. AussieMeg - Everything flows so well, your ability to get lots of photos on a page without it looking messy/busy is a great skill.

Just realized that this LO fits this challenge,@jenianne. Nothing new on it, so no twist points. But this cs is from one of my Story Teller kits which was the first kit club I belonged to, circa 2005? It is (obviously) not one of my go-to colours of cs and has languished in my cs drawer waiting all this time to get some action LOL. school music project by Gramma Dee, on Flickr
