We've never been, and there will be 6 kids with us between the ages of 6 (going on 16!) and 15 (going on 25!). Possibly a 3 year old, but not sure she is coming with.
The website says they must be with guardian all the time and it seems very bar-like. I can't imagine the 13 & 15 yos wanting us to stick to them like glue, the 6 & 11 will follow 13 anywhere and the 9 & 10 will follow 15 everywhere. It just doesn't seem like it would be enjoyable if the adults have to split up and hover over the kids. It is just a Chuck E Cheese with better food?

We've been there during the day with our kids and it was fine. The games are much more grown up than CEC - I can't recall if there was much that was little kid appropriate, but plenty for the eight and up crowd. The food is just meh.
I'd say as long as the littles have a teen "guardian" and aren't on their own, it's fine.

Yes. My kids have been going since they were 3 or 4. My son is actually there today. They were in PA yesterday at camp so today is a low key day at D&B. I personally don't like it as it is too loud and the food is passable but when it opened, it was a new experience for the kids and they loved it. My dd is 15 and doesn't care for it but ds is 11 and still loves it.

Its a more grown up Chucky Cheese. The menu has more variety. It's not great food by any means but some of it is ok. The games are geared more toward the teen to early 20 set (mainly teens) The 6 year old will find things he/she can do. The 13-15 are prime ages for it. I never noticed anyone having to hover over their kids unless the kids were being rowdy or rude to other customers. The rule is more about protecting the business from a lawsuit than actual expectations your child be stuck to you like glue.
If you go earlier in the afternoon or early evening you'll see lots of younger teens. Later evening is more of a date night crowd for the older teens and college age. At least in my experience.

I think it's fine. We have been going there for years- once Chuck E. Cheese was too little.

Appreciate all the feedback. I checked the website to get the address and there were links to dress codes and information about the age and a parent having to be there and I was like...this doesn't sound very family friendly.
If we go, it will be daytime/afternoon so maybe a more family friendly atmosphere than at night.
Thanks!

The last time we went I noticed had a few games dd has on her ipad like Fruit Ninja and some other apps she (used to) play or that are/were popular. So I think it's age appropriate for most.
They had some ski ball, basketball, Deal or No Deal, and air hockey. Enjoyable. The bar area is separate. I'm not much on video games so I couldn't really tell you what those were like.

I agree, as long as you aren't there late (like after dinner), you should find it family friendly.

My DH and kids LOVE Dave and Busters. I tolerate it! LOL
I enjoy that they make great margaritas I can sip on while they play the games. Last time, we ordered our food (which is good!) they played games and I chilled at the table with a book while we waited for the food. I called when it was ready. Was a great time! It's not cheap but is fun. The game prizes are pretty good too! :-)

Some of them are in malls. If they didn't have these rules, people would use them for child care and drop off a 10 year old with 20 bucks.

I was planning on sneaking out to hit a couple of stores and leave the kids with the dads, but that keep your kids with the guardian thing was making me nervous.

Dave & buster's is fine for the kids, especially During the day. They will make sure the kids have an adult with them when you walk in the door, but you don't have to hover over them every minute, especially the older one. You will want to keep up with the little ones as the game room is huge!

Look I know we want to take our Children everywhere we go but there are just some places they can't go and shouldn't go. Chuckle E Cheese is age appropriate for small children. Besides Chuckie Cheese has a way that our children don't become an amber alert. Chuckie Cheese A lot of children less adults. D/Busters A lot a lot of ADULTS NOT MANY CHILDREN if you're all in the games your child can be snatched up quickly. Child Molesters are real so don't take it lightly don't give them the ammunition cause you think your child or children should go everywhere you go. Leave the small ones at HOME!

During the day, the kids will be fine. I can't see that DB has any more child snatchers than any other place. Not the ones we've been to. You've got to keep an eye on your children regardless of where you go. ETA: I think the kids would be fine in the early evening, too. later in the evening, it does become more crowded with adults, drinking, etc. I would take my kids home at that point, but not because I feared child snatchers.

Well, thank you for that feedback. What on earth were you googling when you came across this thread?
We did visit Dave and Buster's last summer on a very rainy day and it was packed with families. All of our kids were supervised constantly and made it out unscathed.

Yes, even my two year old loves Dave and busters. We goeveryone we visit my niece who is now 9, but we've been going for a couple of years now. I actually like the food there and look forward to it. Wednesday is half price games day which helps stretch your dollar. My sister often gets coupons from the paper for an extra $10 I'm tokens so she goes on a random day to load her card but uses it with my niece on Wednesday half days from school. Another tip, you can get meal deals where you get a free $10 card with a $15.99 entree but they charge you a $2 convenience fee per card. We figured that out and now tell them we have a card instead of tossing it when we're done. I think you may even be able to load all of those $10 credits on one card that mom holds and supervises little ones with. Ds is really too young to play games but he loves watching his cousin play or we let him play the crane with some help. To be honest I just let him sit at some video games that are not busy to let him think he is playing, lol!
