clair I knew that didn’t sound right, but I was too lazy to look it up. I grew up when there were still wide open spaces and dairy farms down the road. I grew up in Bellflower/Hawaiian Gardens.

Yes, if I thought I was in the wrong with something that deserved a sincere apology to another pea, I would apologize, openly. The situation that went down yesterday (or the day before...sorry I suffer from CRS) with your post(s) being misconstrued was one of the prompts for my post. I'm sorry that happened to you, and it brought back the weird stuff that I mentioned in my post to the surface again. I hope you're able to move past it all, even if you don't receive an apology. I get it. I’m not perfect, when that happened I even really objectively examined what Id said to see whether I really did convey that idea (sometimes I’m not as articulate as I’d like), but I feel okay now that I did not. Last year, in trying to make a point I unintentionally upset someone badly. Reflecting on my comment, I understood why it had upset them like it had - and apologized. I felt awful enough about it that I stepped away from here for a couple of months, because I felt I part of it that I was on edge, and I didn’t want to upset someone who didn’t deserve it like that again. It helped. I don’t think I did that this time. I’m good. I have zero expectations of an apology. Zee said something once along the lines of when you deal with a crappy circumstance/person, think instead of all the good people out there who are still helping others, no matter what. That’s really true of this place too. I know there is much more good in this place, than there is bad. 🙂

Where my Ohio peeps at? We’re all just thoroughly confused as to why we’re considered Midwest! Oh so not Midwest! Here in winter, we drive around pot holes the size of moon craters and small ponds, in spring those pot holes become hidden with rain, mud, flooding (we do flood a lot!) and our cars are getting repaired, going into summer and autumn it’s all orange cones and construction! No one goes the speed limit, everyone’s in a hurry, and anyone wearing a hat is a terrible driver!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

That green jello with the olives in it is truly disgusting. I don't mind jello, although I never make it. But if I'm going to put anything in it it will be fruit....canned peaches or pears, maybe fresh grapes. How about this one…

I don’t *think* I’ve ever bashed the Midwest - I loved what I visited and desperately want to see more. Plus you guys have cheese curds!!! I do agree about the weather though lol.. LOL. Nah, we guys don’t have cheese curds. Most of us, at least. Wisconsin does. Maybe Minnesota? I’ve never had one. If we learn anything from this here thread, maybe it’s that most Brits don’t use “One” as a pronoun (pity, that), 10 of 12 Midwestern states do not have cheese curds, and Ohioans are So-not-Midwestern. (I’m not quite sure what to make of that one.) Left unlearned - as yet – is whether cheese curds can be put in Jell-O salads.

That’s where I had cheese curds. Eta - I see what you are saying. Cheese curds are only a subset of the Midwest.

Well, there you go. You must be Midwestern. It’s like a syllogism from a college Logic class.

I also want to go back to Minneapolis which I was only able to spend part of 1 day in. And for the record I also had cheese curds in Chicago…

I grew up in Iowa and the bowling alley had "cheese balls" which essentially were the same, except maybe different type of cheese? I am not sure. That was my only experience with something of that nature prior to living in MN.

Cheese curds are gross to me.

My fave local restaurant has amazing fried cheese curds. (They get 'em from Ellsworth Creamery... in WI.)

Where my Ohio peeps at? We’re all just thoroughly confused as to why we’re considered Midwest! It seems like an awfully big area. I get confused by what is included in the Midwest. I know Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, South and North Dakota, Illinois. What other states are included?
