During the pandemic, my DH and I made a scrapbook of his military service. It was not something he talked about much, even with our children. I pulled out everything I could find and dragged info out of him.
As many of you know, he passed away 2 weeks ago. I put the scrapbook out at the funeral home and was very surprised at how many people commented about and looked through it. I am so very glad I created the book.
I also discovered our pastor's mom is scrapbooker!
The message from me is: If you've been thinking of creating a scrapbook about something or someone, go do it!

Oh how wonderful! Why is it always a surprise to us how much people love looking at memories?
I know you and your children will appreciate the scrapbook more and more as time goes by. (HUGS) Don’t forget to make one about you for them.

You know how I have had some struggles with my kids and it never fails that when my life is in a complete tailspin I look to those scrapbooks to keep me afloat. I hope that when it is my time, someone will pull those books out and display them at my service. I hope they will get passed down and generations after me will enjoy them. Surely, I can't be the only sentimental one among my family who finds those books full of memories a joy to look through and reminisce.

Mikklynn, my sympathies to you and your family in the loss of your husband. It's comforting to think of you two working together on his military sb. I hope you can look to it in the future and think of the close time you spent together creating it.

So wonderful that you and your dh took that time to create that book, mikklynn. Now you have not only that book, but the memory of creating it. Scrapbooking is rewarding for me b/c it makes me appreciate all those small moments, and helps me remember and share that appreciation.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Big hugs and prayers for you.
I’m so glad you have that album to remember him by. They are definitely important, even if they are just for you, and you won’t be passing them down to anyone.

I am so happy to hear your husband joined you in making that special book. I scrap everything in my life but so many projects are unfinished. I need a plan to have completed stories to share with others.
