tests? Ugh, sometimes I get so frustrated with my daughter. She sometimes takes gummies for anxiety. She recently was offered and accepted a job, her first full time with benefits jobs. She's 22 and did not go to college/vocational school and this is a good job with potential. She was just told she needs to take a drug test for the job (front desk staff in a large health system) and she had a gummy on Sunday. Now we are going out of town for a week on Friday and she does not start the job until March 21 and can't schedule the drug test until we are back in town anyway. Will it still show up in two weeks? It's all legal in our state but I don't know anything about how this all works. I know nothing about edibles and CBD/TCH etc. It's this stuff I believe. The THC will show up on a drug test in general. Your timeframe... hard to say. I found this:
Blood: 3-4 hours
Saliva: 24-72 hours
Urine: 3-30 days
Hair: Up to 90 days
Even if it's legal in your state, some companies have policies against positive drug tests, period. Does she know what their policies are?

I highly doubt it would show up unless she's a consistent user and just stopping for those two weeks.
I have friends who are nurses who definitely use THC/CBD (we're in a legal state) so is it possible the company doesn't test for it? DH has a job with large machinery and they don't test for it anymore either.

I am so envious of those of you who can use this. I'm in California, so it is legal here, but my doctor said I can't due to the pain meds I am on. I get occasional anxiety panic attacks and I would love to have something to help me through it. I think I will print out the info and ask him if I can use a gummy. Maybe he meant I can't smoke a joint?

If they have zero tolerance and she doesn’t pass the drug test then she’s loses the position. Can she email someone in HR and ask their policy on it?
As far as the edible and how long thc will show in her system, too many variables. Depends how often she uses, the mg of the edible and how quickly her body metabolizes it.

How long it remains in her system will depend on a lot of factors. Does she frequently take gummies? How many mg does she take and how often? Does she have a fast metabolism? Are her gummies CBD or THC?
The best thing for her is that she is going out of town so she cant take the test now. Ds has a good friend who had to take a test. I believe she stopped for 2 weeks and it was fine.
And ultimately, just like drinking, it shouldnt matter what you do on your own time. But to some employers it does.
Oops, i just saw the gummies that she was taking. So, Wyld makes a Pear CBD gummy and they make the 1:1 pear gummies that you linked. Important to know which she is taking as the first does not have THC and the second does. (Also, good brand choice on her part!lol)

As a point of reference - this happened to DH this week - he had a new hire who was doing great work .. she didn't take her drug test before she started work or the results didn't come back, not sure. He had to terminate her employment bc she tested positive for CBD/THC due to gummies that she uses for anxiety. He vehemently disagrees, but above his pay grade. Buying the gummies is legal in our state .. but apparently it's also legal to terminate someone for using them.
IDK about how long it takes to get through your system. If she has another job I would wait to turn in my notice until I got the results back.

I haven’t’t had any since Friday and I totally get why she needs it for mental health reasons. I could not work for someone who told me what to do with my body. |

I would be very surprised if they let her wait that long to schedule it. Usually you have no more than four days from the day of the job offer, and it’s time sensitive. They don’t give people time to clean up before they test.

I’d buy an over the counter urine test and see if it’s negative. It is possible to be negative on an OTC test but positive on a commercial test. Tests come in a wide variety of sensitivities. So not only does her personal metabolism come into play but so does the sensitivity of the test used. I suggest stop stop all use until she is past this stage of job hunting and knows what the company specific policy is. |

I’d honestly be surprised if they let her wait until she comes back to take the test. Every job I’ve been offered in healthcare that was contingent on a drug screen, the test had to be scheduled within 4 days of the notification. The point is it’s random, they don’t want to give you time to clean up your system.

I am on an antidepressant that is supposed to mitigate the anxiety attacks as well as mitigate the fibromyalgia symptoms. It does okay with the fibro symptoms but doesn't really help with the anxiety. He put me on the lowest dose and told me to take two pills if one wasn't enough but after what I went through with antidepressants over the last two years, I am afraid to increase the dose. I am going to ask him at my next appointment. |

Her rheumatologist and endocrinologist will be a resource. Has she transitioned to adult care yet from pediatrics? CBD supposedly doesn’t contain THC, but studies of CBD products show some patients still test positive for THC. I work for a state DOT, so regardless of the legality of medical marijuana in my state, I cannot use it, as USDOT doesn’t allow it. I won’t use CBD for my juvenile RA because of the risk of potential THC positivity. My 22 yo college senior with JRA also won’t use because she’s getting close to graduating and doesn’t want her job search impacted. Once she’s working, she can re-evaluate that based on her employer and it’s policies.

We had to have drug tests within two business days, from the time we accepted the offer, for both my healthcare organization and the one my daughter just started working for. |

I went through this with my DD when she got her first big girl job, but luckily the company stopped drug testing.
She’s contemplating a career change and I’m wondering how long she should abstain before submitting applications. I’m thinking at least a month.

My doc said last time I went that I should buy RSO and put the syringe in hot water for 10 minutes, then squeeze out a rice size portions on wax paper and freeze. That little rice sized piece sandwiched between something is an edible. Costs less and RSO uses the entire plant so you get the most health benefit. I am going to try this very soon. |

But they usually take blood for employment tests. I also live in a state that allows CBD products and I use them a lot. I always have CBD gummies at home that I buy here, herbheaven.co. I stopped using these chewing gum a week before taking the test and got the job.blood sample, then your daughter should not worry because CBD stays in the blood not more than 6 days. |
