We have always had, and are happy with, Samsung phones. We keep phones a long time, don't need the newest/best. I bought an S7 Galaxy when my previous phone fell out of my pocket while kayaking on Lake Tahoe. Note to self: secure phone on next kayak trip. Anyway, I don't want to spend the current over-the-top prices for a phone. I'm looking at the S21 series where there are several in the mid-$700's and up range. Anyone have one of these phones and care to share which model and the good/bad/ugly? UPDATE: So I went to 2 Verizon stores and Costco today gathering information. The guy at one of the Verizon stores told me that usually being grandfathered into a plan is a GOOD thing but for us it was a bad thing. He can lower our monthly bill by about $25. So now I'm looking at the S22 which is $22 a month so it's practically free. I also like that the S22 is about the same size as my S7. So any reviews of the S22 anyone would like to share?

I'm no help. I purchased my Galaxy10 about 2 years ago. I am stunned that they are already on #21 and 22.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S10e. I ordered the S22+ from Samsung during the pre-launch, but I haven't received it yet. Hopefully next week. Since the S22 series was just released, there are some really good deals for it, which would make it about the same price as the S21 series. From what I hear, the S21 and S22 are very similar. But people are saying that the S22 series camera is amazing. (I'm partial to Samsung -- all of our electronics are Samsung. DH has a s9+ and has no plans to upgrade.)
Something to keep in mind... The S21 and S22 series no longer have an earphone jack or a SD card. For that reason, some people are still buying the S20 series.
Reddit is a good place for more info.

The S21 and S22 series no longer have an earphone jack or a SD card. I have never used either with any of my phones so I guess it doesn't matter.

Yesterday I just upgraded to the S22. I like it but I'm still getting it set up and figuring it out. It's a 5G phone and gets really good reception. My S7 was dying a slow painful death.
I also switched to AT&T from VZ. With AT&T you can trade in any Samsung phone in any condition, they give you the S22 for free. I'm not sure when the special ends. I turned in a very old S4 that didn't even power up. If you have VZ see if they have something similar.

For that reason, some people are still buying the S20 series. I was goofing off and taking random photos today and yes, they are amazing! I was hesitant on the S22 because I'll need new earbuds but it'll be nice not getting tangled in the wire (I'm such a dork!). I did have a 128G microSD in my S7 but I have my photos set to transfer to Google Photos so hopefully I won't need the extra storage.

I have the s21. It does well what I use it for. Good service, quick response. I am also one who doesn't need latest and greatest. So it's good for me!

I have a Note9 so I am getting the 22+ because I do love the built in stylus.
DH pre-ordered it for me so I am hoping to get it soon.

I upgraded from a 10e to the S21 in January. Info transfer was seamless. The stress was switching from AT&T to T-Mobile, but we've ultimately been happy.

I have the S10e and am strongly considering the 22 Ultra. My biggest issue is that I just paid off my S10e and there is nothing officially wrong with it...however, I hate the camera. In a most situations it's OK, but I'm a scrapbooker and actually print out my photos. There are some situations where I just don't trust it and would rather drag my DSLR around to get better shots.

DH and I upgraded from the 9+ to the 21 Ultra. Like another pea said, the transfer was quite easy. Just a few clicks and leaving the phones within a few inches of each other until it was done. So different from how it was before!
Love the camera! The magic eraser feature is awesome! I haven't played around with it too much yet, but so far I like it!

The Samsung website currently gives a $325 credit for trading in a S10e (in 'good' condition) if you buy the 22 Ultra. Just FYI, trade-in values change and vary depending on the item you are buying.

I got the S21 Ultra or whatever it is last year, the one with like 5 cameras. It's fine, just like all my other Samsungs. Great camera. Does everything you need it to do.

And I'm keeping the S7 for DH to have when we go to Ireland to use for pictures. The phone takes amazing pictures, even better than his expensive digital camera. It's the battery life that is dying but for what DH wants to use it for, it will be fine.

I have the cheapo A21. I liked it until it was starting to do wonky stuff. I did a factory reset and now it's back to being a good phone. I don't think you can buy them new, anymore. I refuse to spend a lot of money on a phone that will be yesterday's model in a few months.

I had the s7 for years and loved it until it just shut off and never came back on. I upgraded to a s10 and I love if. I don't ever buy the newest models they never really offer enough more to make it worth the price

I have an A32. I feel like they all mostly do the same stuff these days, feature wise. You just want to be sure you get one with enough memory. Mine currently has 64 gigs plus the SD slot, and I FINALLY do not have the phone memory maxed out. SO got one (also a samsung, I think he said S10)-- his has 128 gigs and he's really happy (he has a lot of digital media).

I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S21 last year and really love mines. Transferring contacts, files, and apps was really an easy process too. The only con is that it doesn't have a headphone jack so you have to buy the wireless buds.
Previously had the Galaxy s6, which I had for about 5-6 years. I also use my phone until it's dies.

The S21 and S22 series no longer have an earphone jack or a SD card I have the S21+ and I love it. I generally keep phones for 2-4 years (Hubby makes me upgrade). You will need to get wireless ear buds for sure. I totally forgot about not having a jack until I was on a plane a few weeks ago and wanted to watch a show. Thankfully DH had an extra set of wireless ear buds with him!

Last fall I upgraded to the S21. I had to do a warranty return on it after a couple of months because there were many days when it would constantly restart itself. I think my original one was a lemon because the replacement phone they sent (also an S21) hasn't given me any problems.

I have an S21+, no complaints. I have the purple one so that is a plus!
Yes, no earphone jacks have to have an adaptor or blue tooth ear buds. I use blue tooth.

Just randomly restart throughout the day. Was able to get a replacement and now issues after that.

So any reviews of the S22 anyone would like to share? No reviews from me, but an ad just popped up on my Twitter feed for the S22. It looks like it has a great camera! "Gone are the days of being limited by light. Create and connect in all hours of the day with the new Galaxy S22 and Nightography." That would be enough to sway me, if I were in the market for a new phone!

As mentioned earlier, I've had mine for a few days now. I've been through every menu, deleting unwanted pre-installed apps, turning off notifications and background data use, and setting it up the way I like it. None of the cons in my list below are a deal breaker, though. I'm really happy with it.
Pros: Photos are really good! Calls are clear and not garbled (my S7 was getting horrible for calls) It's a bright screen even changed to dark mode Oh and it's fast! I'm using it as a "hot spot" for laptop since we don't get reliable internet service where I live. The transfer of data was seamless. Download the transfer app on your old phone and set them side by side, and after a bit all is transferred.
Cons: I don't like the placement of the camera lenses. They stick out from the back and the edge is sharp. The case I ordered case should be here today and should fix that. The placement of the volume up/down and the on/off button are too close. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. I hate apps that I can't disable or un-install. USB-C cable. I'm used to Kindle, tablet and phone using the same cord.
