First the GREAT news. The super expensive med I told you about? It is working like a freaking miracle! The very first day I took it I could walk like a normal person, do housework, I felt wonderful... things that haven't happened for years! Today is day 4, and though not as extreme, the difference is still amazing. And I've had not even one attack (I was having up to several daily along with persistent weakness..). So I am thrilled beyond words!
Unfortunately I just got some bad news and I'm pissed. I had an EKG last week and it was abnormal. Specifically showed suspected ischemia of the anterior wall of my heart suggested by ST-T changes. My last EKG was only last month and was normal so this is something recent. And it's pretty serious. I know at the minimum this will mean more tests, more meds, probably a cardiologist. I also found out my mother died of a massive heart attack. But she was 78. I'm only 59 for crying out loud! ARGH! Two steps forward, two steps back I guess. Anyone else know anything about this specific heart issue?
I'll admit, it's taken some of the wind out of my sails. I see my PCP tomorrow. I'll give her the results see what she says (it was ordered by my neurologist). But I still am so damn happy not to be paralyzed, LOL!

I have no knowledge this condition, but wanted to wish you well. I'm glad you've kept a sense of humor!

I'm really happy that the new meds are working so well for you. YAY!
I'm sorry that you now have to deal with another issue. I hope it turns out to be nothing too serious and is easily manageable. (((Hugs)))

Yippee on the new meds! I know nothing of the heart issue, but wish you answers and a plan that address it.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I know that was a very tough relationship.

I hope your new meds continue to help so much.
Hearts are complicated. I hope this new finding turns out to be nothing scary.

So glad the meds are working!!!!!! My dads side of the family all had heart disease and passed young and I have it as well but it’s mild compared to what they all had. Don’t panic till they give you all the answers!!! Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies. I really got screwed on the genetic lottery I'm afraid. Worst of both sides then new things my own DNA messed up. Lordy. But I'm finding ways to be happy. Walking around the house rather than using a wheelchair or waddling like a duck is huge for me. I'm having a quick rest right now before I get ready for my doctor's appointment. Poor thing. She doesn't know about my EKG or latest kidney labs yet. I am such a difficult patient! But hey, I keep her on her toes, and don't let her forget her training, lol!!! And just for shits and giggles, it's currently 85, mostly cloudy with a light breeze at my house at 11:30 on March 8th. Not too shabby.
