I buy the bullet and bought the 18x24 glass board studio mat that is magnetized. The whole surface and I love it! It takes up most of that part of my desk so now I have a nice big space for working and keeping my stuff in.
I can stencil right on it and use their magnets to hold down the stencils. Ink blend right on it and see the true colors of the ink as I chose the white mat. It cleans up so easily. Seriously I absolutely love it. Now I need to find new homes for my wendi vecchi make art stations as those have become superfluous.
This is my best investment in a long time.
Edited to add I bought the 24x36. The really big one. Which I love.

That sounds inviting! Who is the manufacturer of the mat?

Hmm, that discount makes it super tempting. The cats never know what to get me for Mother’s Day, this might be the ticket. What color would you guys choose? I am leaning towards black, but what are pros and cons of black vs white?

I love it too and got the one with the metal backing. Before I bought mine I asked how dark the lines were, since they seemed light without sufficient contrast for my bad eyes. The owner of the company said he’d be glad to make them darker.I happened to have a gray scale and he looked at their original specs and we decided on 75 or 80% black. He really got into it and said just before my question another person asked the same thing but ordered one as it was. He said she was older and he was going to reach out to her to see if she wanted to change. They originally were 100% black but some complained that was too much contrast against the white. They make them to order so it’s not difficult to change - and he added a note about it in the website description. They originally made the boards to hang on walls for business, and didn’t expect them to be so well received in the crafting world. I think Mary Polanco introduced it - I used one of her discounts. I bought white after using Tim’s glass mat for a long time - and think his mat is excellent, but the contrast of shiny black against white cardstock (most often) wasn’t my favorite thing. www.glassboardstudio.com/collections/glass-craft-mats/products/white-glass-craft-mat

That sounds inviting! Who is the manufacturer of the mat? yes, inquiring minds need to know! It is the glass board studio mat that everyone else quoted. And yes you can get them 20% off. I would have liked to darken the lines. I wish I had known about that customization. But I really do love it lighter gray lines and all. I can see stuff better on a white mat versus my black Tim holtz one. I have my distress inks on the other side of my u shaped desk so I use my oxides over there. But I prefer blending on the white mat.

I would love one for the larger size and magnetic thing, and yes, maybe in white or aqua! but already invested in the Tim Holtz glass mat and can't justify replacing it. The pretty color is not enough?

Do you often work on dark cardstock or white cardstock? I just think the white would blend to much with the cream and white cardstock I primarily use.

That was the mat I was most interested in when I was debating whether to get a magnetic mat or a glass mat or something else. Being able to have both functions in one was very appealing, and it seemed way more durable than the MakeArt StayTion (some people had issues with the grid wearing off on those).

Ah man, now I want it. Bad peas, bad peas. First I need to sell the other 3 I have. I'm collecting these like I collect trimmers.

Watch the YouTube video from sprinkled with glitter aka Carissa Wiley. She has had this quite a while and dies a great job explaining the benefits of it.

What about the black one? It would be similar to Tim Holtz's media mat. Do you use that? And now that you all have me looking at these...I wonder how difficult it would be to just place a magnetic metal piece underneath my TH media mat.

I have the tim holtz one but I didn’t like crafting on the black. The only thing better about the tim holtz was the zero center line ruler. I bought the largest one and I love it! Much bigger then the tim holtz one and I definitely prefer crafting on this one

I love the look of this mat, and I think I would want the 18 by 24 which seems to be popular judging by the fact that it's out of stock. Today I took a small glass mat that I had and put the metal mat for my foil quill under it, it works very well so I think I will enjoy that for a while and see how much use I think I would get out of the bigger one.

Same here! I wonder if we can find/buy a magnetic backing like you can "add" to this craft mat to make the TH one magnetic...

A thin piece of ferrous metal should do the trick, something your magnets will stick to even with the glass between. I have no idea where you would get that, but maybe you could contact the glass board studio company and see if they could sell you something to retrofit the TH.

I'm gonna google and call around a few places to see if I can get a piece. This would make it the ideal mat!

I had been wondering about this, as I already have the large We R Memory Keepers version. I think I’m going to try this to make mine magnetic.🤞

I have my foil quill mat taped to the back of my glass mat for now, if I continue to like it I am thinking spray adhesive?

I'd like to try it, not sure how I'd "attach" it to the back of the glass. And I need to get more "3D" type magnets Good news to report! I got a similar piece of 12x24 metal from our local Tractor Supply (only difference was 26-gauge, as they were out of the 22, so a few dollars more) and slipped it under my WRMK glass mat, which is the large 18x24 size. (With the size, you could choose to slide it closer to your front edge or more toward the center if you wanted the front bit to remain non-magnetic.) It totally works, great hover/pull and everything (I used a common bar-shaped magnet to test it). But the best part? I didn't even have to attach it to the back at all. It's now a magnetic mat with no adhering required. Thank you to the fellow curious glass-mat owners who prompted me to try this. I've heard nothing but good things about this company's magnetic glass mats, and they look great. I totally would have bought one if not for the fact that I already had a glass one. Now I feel like I've got the best of both worlds, and it didn't hurt my wallet.

I went from a large green self-healing mat to the magnetic glass (white) and I am absolutely thrilled with it. It has made stencils a snap for me.
