Thanks for asking. I'm almost out of my gold mist too.

I thought I heard HS gold was coming back, but can't remember where I heard it. Was it from Shimelle??

There is a really shiny gold acrylic paint sold in the craft stores. I have thought of making some mist with it when my gold lamé runs out.
Remember when it was the rage to do that, making your own white mist? The Mister Hueys white mist never set, so many people started to make their own white mist using white paint (or gesso) and water?

I replaced with the Dina Wakley Gloss Mist in white. I really like it. I mostly use it for droplets rather than spraying--there is almost a 3D texture to it when it dries. It takes a while to dry, but I haven't noticed it coming off on anything. I'm trying to resist buying more colours. She has a gold too, but I'm not sure how metallic it is.

I have an Altenew gold spray. I like it. I never had the Heidi Swapp one, though, so I can't compare it.

I just received my Brutus Monroe Chromamist in Gold today...very disapointing. I shook it for over 3 min, so I know it was well mixed and it is watery and thin, and when splattered on 120 lb cardstock and given 10 min to dry, still smeared and did not give that nice pop of gold.

I rarely use metallic mists, but it's my understanding they should not be shaken. Rather, the bottle should be placed sideways in the palm of one hand & gently rolled between your palms, so the metallic particles do not clog the nozzle & result in a watery stream. HTH.

Thanks...I actually am not using the nozzle, did not even try it as that isn't how I use the gold mist. I make sure it is well mixed, then unscrew the top and use the plastic straw type thing attached to the sprayer to splatter the mist on my page. To do that it needs to be well mixed, which it looked to be, but when it dried it was pale and thin. But I am glad to know about the rolling, in case I ever decide to spray something.

I apologize for being unclear. It’s my understanding metallic mists should always be rolled between the palms regardless how it’s to be used. If shaking the bottle causes the metallic particles to clog the nozzle, the remainder will be watery & less or non-metallic (whether you use the spray nozzle or the dip tube to create splatters) since the metallic particles are not mixed into the solution. Perhaps give it another try after rolling, not shaking, the bottle &/or contact the manufacturer to troubleshoot the issue/replace or refund the defective product. Best wishes.

Just got my scrapbook.com order that included this and it is AWESOME!!! I am not sure if I had a defective BM one or what, but it just never came together and was watery. This one is just beautiful and dries to a perfect gold color. It is a light bright gold.

Thank you for this information! My Dylusions shimmer did that yesterday so I will roll it from now on.
