ETA 3/16 Please see my post further down in this thread, I’m going to pause giving this away for now. OP I threw this gorgeous embossing folder in at the last minute of a late night ordering session 😜 and didn’t read about how thick it is, and that it only works in certain machines. I have an old Evolution Advanced, and try as I might, I can’t find a sandwich that works for me….SO, I’d love to give it away. If interested, post here and I’ll do a random number pick in a couple of days. Make sure to check first that it will work with your machine! SIZZIX BIG, THICK, SUPER DETAILED DANDELION EMBOSSING FOLDERConsider it a little tiny show of appreciation for all the advice/guidance/enabling you’ve provided over the last few weeks 🥰

MichyM I found some info that might help you use the 3D embossing folder. I found the info here. Hope it helps. www.scrapbook.com/products/questions.php?sku=wr-03790-3There are some gorgeous 3D embossing folders on the market so you’ll definitely want to try to get them to work in your machine. Also, don’t include me in the give away, I just googled because I’d never heard of that machine.

You've tried without a plate and then added cardstock or other shim (rubber mat, metal plate, etc.) if too thin? I have that and some other 3D embossing folders. One was used in an old Cuttlebug.

A couple of tips - I have tried using a couple of layers of thin fun foam as a shim with 3D folders. I have a different machine but if you have some fun foam you might want to try it. If you do get it to work it’s also a good idea to dampen the cardstock to get a good impression. I hope you can get it to work! I don’t need to be entered for the folder, I’m trying to minimize

I have some of the thick 3D folders. i definitely had to adjust the cutting sandwich. I think I first removed the usual thin plastic spacer from my Big Shot.
I’d love the folder, but I hope you’ll try a few more things before giving it away.

Oh HELLO girls! Seriously, y’all are the best. I sat down this morning and futzed with it some more and actually got it to emboss. It was far too much futzing and finagling to do on a regular basis, but it convinced me to pick up some of the fun foam sheets to try with it. I’ll get to Michael’s in the next week, so can I pause the giveaway for now? I’m posting an image below. I hadn’t “pressed” the damped paper yet, and it literally is the first one to actually make it all the way through the machine, so it’s less that perfect. If I can get it to work more easily, I’ll want to keep it but will be happy to make some to send some to the girls who already posted above this that they were interested in the giveaway! If I do keep it, I sincerely apologize. It’s not my MO to offer something up, and then pull it back again, truly.

Thank you!

MichyM gorgeous! I used to have to futz a lot when I used a Cuttlebug, so after figuring out a sandwich it was written on a Post-It and stuck inside the embossing folder, along with type of paper, since it might be heavy or light cardstock or thin rice paper. If only one area had to be shimmed with small pieces of cardstock or copy paper, a sample with that area circled was also kept inside the folder. Folders were kept upside down in the bin so nothing would fall out. So just one futzing.

Thank you! Yes ma'am. It'll be quite thin. You can also use it in place of foam tape to add dimension to your cards, so if you can get white I would say that's the most useful. But yeah, it's cheap and easy to find. If you can't locate it today I could also pop a couple of sheets in the mail to you I got way more than I needed when I bought mine a few years ago.

I’m glad you got an impression. Hopefully it will get easier. Write down what worked, so you don’t have to fool around with it next time. I absolutely think you should keep it!

Keep it, MichyM! It's gorgeous. The embossing will get easier as you learn what works in your machine.

If this is less than perfect I can’t imagine what perfect looks like since it’s GORGEOUS. So happy that you are still willing to finagle. Keep in mind that once you master it there are YT videos showing ink techniques for 3D embossing folders so you can bring some of your favorite colors into the mix.

I’ve never been one to use embossing folders (I’m technique lazy), but when you add ink into the mix, it’s a whole new world. Ink (applied with a brayer) and an embossing folder = magic! Thank you scrappyesq and also Ryann for the link. I've been rearranging my craft supplies over the past few weeks to make room for card making stuff and ran across my brayer from a few years ago when I tried (and decided it wasnt for me) linotype. <---- And yay me for putting all those supplies (except the inks, brayer, and mat for rolling out the ink) into the donate box. I can be really horrible about letting unused crafting supplies go. I finally found the thin foam sheets at a specialty art store (my Michaels was out) and am ready to play with it again. That video will be super helpful! Hopefully I'll like embossing. We'll see! If I can get to a point of getting a decent impression on a regular basis, I still plan to give away some of these to those who expressed interest in the folder. ETA: holy cow. I'm only a few minutes into the video and who would think to put the ink on the folder itself? NOT ME. The result is gorgeous! I have a feeling that doing my taxes are going to end up being put off another day
