There is no amount of redesigning that would get me on that flying death trap. LOL Yeah, that! Although, truthfully, I'd be too afraid to even climb the 17 flights of stairs leading up to it. That high enclosed in a building...no prob. That high not enclosed in a building with tons of people right on my tail....absolutely not.

That water looked nasty and YELLOW. Like all the test subjects had sudden bladder release. I know I'd pee from fright on it.

It looked awesome, until the second video, when the raft flew off. LOL!

I am all about a good water slide or roller coaster but this looks downright dangerous. I think I would have to pass.

It's a 4-person ride. We have season passes there, and 6yo DD can't wait to ride it! I'm sure if DH is off, he'll be right at the front of the line with her on the first day. Me - I'm so afraid of heights I don't ride the regular water slides (the stairs make me panicky), so you won't catch me on it - I'm a lazy river kind of girl. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) There have been tons of test riders already, and the thing really holding up the process at this point is the raft return, so surely they'll get it open at SOME point this season.

I've read many times that no actual humans have been test riders yet. Sometime maybe later in the summer last article from a couple days ago said. Either way I'd not want to be the first human on this thing! Lol. I'd never made the stairs though, that height would have me frozen in terror.

That was true at one point in the testing (before the retrofit), but it isn't now. The owner went down first, and a bunch of the lifeguards have been down as well. A good friend's daughter works there, and she said (after going down herself) that it's fantastic. From what I understand, they go after dark to avoid media recording their rides.

Will they really let a 6yo ride? From one of the links posted: "It's dangerous, but it's a safe dangerous now," Henry says. "Schlitterbahn is a family water park, but this isn't a family ride. It's for the thrill seekers of the world, people into extreme adventure."

I would not go on that but yet I'd go on the tallest Ropes Course that DH designed which is 5 stories high.

I imagine so, particularly since it's not a body slide. I'm guessing they'll let anyone ride who can make it up all those steps! ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) DD's been riding the waterslides there since she was 2 and has ridden everything else they've got. FWIW, she's a big, sturdy 6 (7 in October) - 52 or 53", about 65lbs I think. She's a total adrenaline junkie, and she'll ride with Dad, so I'm not worried about it.

It's about an hour from us and when you have the worlds tallest anything in your backyard, you pretty much have to go on it! We are going to Schlitterbahn this summer and we will be riding it! But we are daredevils and love a good thrill ride.

Nope, there is no way on earth you'd get me on that, even if there was some means of getting me up all those stairs.

Plus 17 flights of stairs? Waiting in line in the hot summer sun? Naaaa I'll still pass. there is no way I would do 17 flights of stairs in order to do THAT!!! Stairs? It's really stairs? I thought it had an elevator????And honestly in the hot, humid summer I think 17 flights of stairs with packed in people adding more heat and blocking air circulation is a safety hazard. Like when someone gets online hasn't eaten lunch or kept hydrated, waits on the line up to floor 12 or so then passes out from heat. What then?
