Kohl’s just never really caught on for me. I never went often enough to play all their games with the ‘cash.’ Mind always expired. And I don’t know whether their stores are stocked the same, but I never found much there that I loved. I would try to do a little Christmas shopping there for convenience, but often left empty handed. I guess my pea card might get revoked for this, but I never bought even one of those Big Throw blankets that everyone raved about. I never bought the Pea Blankets either. Just wasn't my thing. I have the same opinion as yours on Kohls. I never really found much there. If I go into there these days it is only because Sephora is there now.

I’m not a huge fan but they are opening one in my town. It will be the first big retail except Walmart, so I’m hoping it does well so we can get a few more things.

I took my 18yo dd there a while back, thinking we could get her some grown-up clothes that she needs for auditions, interviews, etc. But they didn't have all the career/workwear that I remember them having. It was all casual and workout stuff. I guess no one wears nice clothes anymore. We ended up ordering stuff off amazon. Other than that, I haven't been there in ages! I had a similar experience. We never did remote work where I work and our dress code has never changed. It's getting SO HARD to find any type of work pants that are not super dressy. I just need some basic khaki type pants, why is it so hard? I got a couple last spring at Kohls which weren't great but better than nothing. All we have here is a Kohls and a Penney's. Penney's is dirty and makes Ross look organized. Kohls at least is clean.

Ours just closed. It was always empty. The only time it was busy was the afternoon of music recitals when parents realized they didn't have black pants or white shirts. Now that you mention it, that's pretty much the only time I shopped there.

I usually only go there to return Amazon stuff and would shop to spend the $5 Kohls cash you got for your return. Of course the greedy people have ruined it. So many people were buying stuff on Amazon to turn around and get the Kohls cash that they did away and are now only giving you a discount coupon. We very rarely return anything to Amazon anyway, so probably won't be back for a long time. That's a bummer. I can tell you at least 4 our of 5 times I have returned an amazon purchase and received the $5.00 Kohl's cash, I never ended up using it. I usually either didn't have time to look around or didn't want to spend additional money. But I am sad that others had to ruin that. It was a great incentive.

I used to buy t-shirts at Kohl’s. Lately they are thinner and shrink up and only good for one season. Occasionally there is a good buy or two, jeans or jewelry or housewares, (and yes on the Gold Toe socks!) but the coupon game does get old.

Yes, people that take advantage often ruin it for others. I never was offered kohls cash...just a coupon. I return Amazon stuff there quite a bit.

The $5 Kohl’s cash coupon is offered Saturday-Monday for the time being. It may change again in the future, or fluctuate in different markets, but this is the current Amazon return promo in the majority of Kohl’s locations.

I hadn't been inside a Kohl's in a long time until recently and I was shocked at the small selection of clothes. In the men's department, they had a huge Levi's jeans area and very few other brands. The coupon thing never bothered me. I'd figure what the final price was and decide to purchase.

I liked their 5.00 books sometimes and their kitchen stuff, but the Kohl’s cash game never appealed to me. I would buy the big throws for the humane society when they were on sale.

I used to buy the majority of my clothes from Kohl's but the last few times I've been there they didn't have anything that appealed to me.
I used to love Rock & Republic brand clothes because they were edgier than most clothes for people my age/body type. It is hard to find brands of clothes for size 14 that don't look like mom clothes to me- I love black, straps, cut outs, metal accents, etc. I never outgrew my teenage punk rock love.
They don't seem to carry it anymore. They also used to have a lot of Vera Wang that sometimes came close to that aesthetic but that section has gotten a lot smaller.
Kohl's was also my place for jeans that fit and dresses for special occasions. I also loved their jewelry and that section is getting smaller.
I just read a CNN article that said they are purposely going into more casual and athletic wear. I'm not sure that is a good strategy.
I think it is funny that people are mentioning clothes for recitals. Kohl's is definitely the place I went to get my nephew's band clothes. They have nice athletic clothes for kids but they are kind of pricey.
I would hate it if they went out of business. There are fewer and fewer choices in department stores.
