I am tired of replacing the blade in my Fiskars trimmer. I’ll keep it for “gutting” paper but want one with a self sharpening blade.
I’m leaning towards the Cutterpillar pro. Amazon has it for $96.
Any advice? Thanks so much!

I hate it when the blade falls out of the Fiskars! I have a Cricut trimmer that I really like.

I love my Tonic guillotine trimmer. It stays sharp and can cut multiple sheets if I need.

The slide kind makes such a sharp cut, it feels icky to me. However, until I read your op it never once occurred to me that it could be used to gut paper. Feeling all sorts of “duh!” now. 🤦🏻♀️

It depends on the style. I have the new CM one that everyone mostly loves but I find it hard to line things up as the only "guide" I see is the little indent in the blade arrow.
I use my fiskars often in my craft room and take it to all my crops.

Fiskars Procision. the self sharpening blade was the deal maker. This is my favorite trimmer. I looked back on Amazon and I bought it in 2015. It's still going strong. I also like the measurements, lines and markings on it.

Any advice? Thanks so much! I LOVE the cutterpillar pro and the cutterpillar crop. I have three pros and one crop LOL (i use two at work and two at home). I also have a tiny WRMK guillotine for smaller items. They are fabulous for me.

I have the Cutterpillar Crop and it’s nice, but I don’t like that you can’t measure on both sides like the Fiskars.
I have the Tonic too and have the same issue.
I have the CM one and also have issues getting it to line up correctly.
I need to order the Fiskars Procision…but keep putting it off because I have so many other trimmers. I should just bite the bullet.

Fiskars procision for me as well - initial price sucks BUT mine is still cutting perfectly years later, never needs sharpening, so good hubby uses it instead of scissors and so safe my daughter uses it all the time when she crafts. I have mine on a pull out shelf under my craft desk so I can pull out and cut and then push back under. Only downsides I can see are it takes up a lot of real estate on your desk if you have it on top, you have to guess the 6” cut a little bit as it falls in the “fold” in the centre, and it’s heavy if you are thinking of carrying it around (I’d take a smaller trimmer to a crop instead). Have more than made up for the initial expense with the number of blades I would have replaced by now AND NO FURRY EDGES!

Thank you all for the recommendations! I couldn’t find the 12” Tonic guillotine in stock anywhere.
I ordered the Fiskars ProCision and it should arrive today!

I'm a big fan of the Tonic trimmers. I have the large and personal size ones and have zero complaints.

I have serval trimmers. The one that I tend to grab quickly for trimming and for scoring is the WRM Trim and Score Board. I also have the Fiskar's Rotary Trimmer. I'm not as happy with the trim and score board as I thought I would be. I had replaced my old MS score board and my old Fiskar's 12" trimmer with the WRMK board. I suppose if I had to do it over again, I would have kept the MS score board and just purchased the Fiskar's rotary cutter. I also have the Fiskar's ProCision cutter and got it to mostly cut heavy chipboard. As stated above, this board is definitely worth the extra $. It lasts forever and the cuts are as close to perfect as I've ever gotten with any cutter. Hope you find what you're looking for!
