I love that kitchen. I also like the bed with stairs - I love sleeping up high. The rest has too many "interesting" decorating choices for me...and there is no way I'd live in a house so close to the water, every time it rained I'd be anxious about it flooding. I don't care if it's common or not - that close to the water it will always be a risk. That lake is attached to 2 large rivers, so I believe any high water goes to the rivers. Also, the house doesnt have beach frontage as far as I can tell. I have lived here all my life and have not heard of the lake having flood issues. The canals, yes. The rivers, yes. But this is right on the lake.

I'm getting the creeps just looking at the pictures. I would instantly rip down that valance over the big tub, and would just want to rip down SO much in general. I can usually look past decor that doesn't suit my taste, but this one would be one massive renovation for me. The views sure are amazing!

Oh lord, I have so much to say.
The title of this listing should be: Architectural Salvage Gone Wild
Who that that designer on HGTV that did “Venetian plaster” all the time? This homeowner was obviously a fan.
So many different materials in that house. Awful. Too many finishes. Too much distressing.
What’s with the dueling sinks in the kitchen? Made of two different materials of course. And then copper one doesn’t even look to be fitted properly.
And that weird small bar sink in that massive stone fireplace looking insert? Plus they left the plastic piping exposed underneath?
Was that a fish tank in that one photo? It has the fish knobs on the cabinet below. At first due to bad photography, I thought it was a buffet restaurant style setup!
That dried flower swag over one bed makes me wake up wheezing and sneezing just looking at it. I bet that room smells like one of those home goods stores that always reek of potpourri.
Fugly showers. All of them.
Huge rooms yet coffee tables snugged up so closely to sofas that you couldn’t squeeze through.
And would it kill you to spring for some area rugs? Those tile floors look cold.
At this point, that god awful throne toilet is the least of their worries.

So many different colors, styles, types of flooring, types of walls. No continuity at all. Nothing coordinates or matches. It looks like a hodgepodge of >> "whatever's on clearance, at the auction, found at the estate sale," buy and use that. The only thing I like is all the windows, featuring the view. At the same time, it's way to close to the water for my liking. One crazy storm, and there could be water in the house and over the roof and yard space. I am wondering how the whole place can be waterproofed and protected. I'm exhausted taking it all in. Way too much going on.. The water I love. But yeah one big storm?? Not sure about that. The only thing would be is gutting it and starting with one kind of theme.. not the hodgepodge of whatever floats my boat. That throne?? What THE hell? The laundry room is pretty sad looking compared to the rest of the mess.

The only good thing about that house is the lot that it sits on. That I would love to have! The house is horrible. What's with bathtubs out in the open in the bedrooms?

That was an interesting listing! But being right on the water like that, how do they keep a basement dry? The water table must be high, right, since they are surrounded by it in the lake? They must have done something special to that basement when dug out to keep the water from infiltrating the house. That would make me really nervous. Now other than that, the house was quite eclectic, even with their furnishings gone. The numerous floor materials and wall treatments would make me uncomfortable and I would have to have them neutralized if I were to buy the house. I don't care for mishmash decorating room to room like that. I did love all the windows. What is the purpose for 3 sinks in the kitchen/dining area? The one right next to the dining table has me confused. There is a bathroom sink a few steps away from the dining area for hand washing before a meal. Why the extra sink there? And I'm not familiar with that type of stove. Is there only two burners? And what are all the little doors in front? Multiple little ovens? It doesn't look as if you could put a turkey in any of them. All in all, a very interesting listing! Thanks for sharing it, littlemama ! I'm also curious as to what that one thing was that looked like an aquarium. It was on a cabinet with fish knobs and the clock on the wall to the left of it.
