I have enjoyed Shimelle's "Journal your Christmas" class for the past 2 years. I joined hoping it would help me create a December Daily album. What it did was allow me to RECORD my December, and then complete my DD album later when when I inevitably fall behind on the album The class gives me holiday spirit and motivation and prompts. It's Christmassy and pretty. And access is annual once you join. On her blog post today, she announced that she's adding daily video to the Class!!! Yay! A little daily dose of Shimelle. Happy Dance

That makes me happy, happy, happy. I absolutely LOVE watching her create, and I think that will be just the inspiration I need to get going with my JYC this year!

Ohh...tempting! This is just such a busy time of year for me though....2 of my 3 kids' birthdays, and then of course the holiday craziness with parties and choir concerts, basketball practice and on and on. Don't think it would be the same to do it in July though!

How exciting! I have been doing her JYC since 2007. I like it because you can fill in with the prompts for blank spots in your December Daily.

Have emails gone out yet? I usually get an email but not sure when. I don't want to email her if no one else has received one either but I don't want to miss out either. I can't believe Monday is December 1st.
I am really excited about videos - I love her videos.

For those of you who do this... Do you do this as part of your Ddaily, instead of or as well as?

Shimelle sends 2 prompts a day: 1 for memory keeping/journaling, and 1 for photography. I keep a journal recording our day to day stuff, but round it out with a lot of inspiration and ideas from the class. It also prompts me to take pictures. I don't try to create my DD in December. I'm way too busy. But with this class, I can go back (typically next September!) and do the art/album part of my album knowing that all the writing is done, and all the pictures were taken. She also (in the past) has shown her own DD album, the products she's using and pages she does, and also shows stuff from previous years.

For those of you who do this... Do you do this as part of your Ddaily, instead of or as well as? I use Shimelle's prompts to help me complete my DD. So on the days where I have plenty going on (all three of my sibling's birthdays are in Dec so I often have plenty of birthday stories to include) I just document that day. On the "everyday" type of days I will often use one of Shimelle's prompts to help tell the story of this Christmas. I really like how her prompts help me get a fuller picture of my Dec, even if they are just stories on the weather.

I would love to take this class but am wondering if it really applies to my life. I live in a very small town where very little happens, and we don't have any family around nor do we have grandkids, nieces, or nephews. With that background info, what would I put in a JYC album? I love Shimelle's classes, so I am tempted.

To the person who asked about doing the class if you didn't have kids I think it will work just fine. This is the first year she has had a child. She has great prompts. I am sure it is ok to say a general topic or two that I remember it has been a few years since I have done it and hope to find some time this year anyway. She has had prompts on the weather, cards, wish lists, your to do lists. I think these were from her class. I was on the fence for a few years until I signed up and am glad I did. It is also early enough to catch up. That said I am already behind lol.
