I have been investing more and more into stamps to make my own PL cards. I have a little stash of some extra cash this week and I want to add a couple of new colors to my existing ones.
I own:
Seedless Preserves Mustard Seed Candied Apple Cracked Pistachio Prize Ribbon Salty Ocean Spiced Marmalade Mowed lawn Black Soot
That's it. I was thinking I need some kind of pink. And I really want to get Villainous Potion but I am thinking it might not be as versatile. But purple! I love purple. Mowed lawn is a new color for me so I could use some colors that compliment that one too.

I am not a pink person, but I really like Worn Lipstick, it is a warm pink, but not peach. If you like a cooler-toned pink, Kitch Flamingo is nice and works with the pinks in many scrapbook lines. If you like green, Mowed Lawn is a great spring-like green that works with many other colors. If you’d like an aqua color to add in to your collection, Mermaid Lagoon is nice. I also really like Salvaged Patina for a lighter aqua color. So many great colors in the Distress and Oxide lines, have fun shopping!!

Ooh I like the Worn Lipstick color. After looking again...haha...I'm thinking the Shaded Lilac color is a more versatile purple than Villainous Potion. Plus, Spring!

I find I often need that "punch" of purple, rather than a lovely soft shade. I also use Wild Honey all the time. Not sure if you are in person shopping or ordering, but Stampers Anonymous is having free shipping on any order right now. Not sure how long it lasts, but I got SaltWater Taffy and might grab another one before the free ship is over. No code, they just are not adding shipping to the order. Woohoo!

And the newest will most likely make it's way onto that list. It is really such a pretty color stamped out: Salt Water Taffy

I'm really liking the new Saltwater Taffy. I've used it with Worn Lipstick and like the combo. I like Shabby Shutters with Mowed Lawn. The Shaded Lilac is lighter then I like but it is pretty. But, maybe it's just my pad. Could be a little dry.

Are they different enough? I really think the color is pretty too.

My hands down favourite brown is Gathered Twigs. I also use Pumice Stone a fair bit. Those are mostly for inking edges. I find Wild Honey and Mustard Seed are both great for adding a pop of brightness and are quite versatile. I also really like Tattered Rose, but again it is very soft and might not be what you are looking for if you want to stamp. Dusty Concord is another great purple...I like the slightly toned down version of purple, but Villainous Potion is also gorgeous and is dark enough that it is surprisingly neutral.

jeremysgirl here is salt water taffy stamped. If you are on IG, go-to Heidi Swapp's page. In a couple of her newest lives she is using SWT and combining it with spun sugar. It's not worn lipstick but you'll be able to see that but of difference. KWerner may have a comparison, I'll look and report back. .

naby64, I like that! I am so glad I ordered it...more muted that worn lipstick but not as "peachy" as I thought it would be. Yay!

Sorry it's SWT and tattered rose. Tattered rose is the top layer of words and SWT is the bottom layer of the grid stamp.

Thank you for that second image naby64I think I'm going to order Saltwater Taffy in the distress spray and see how I like the color. And the worn lipstick in the ink pad. I'm like 75% set on villainous potion ink pad. I'm still deciding what else...

Not really sure on most used, but one of my fav color combos is Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage. While I like the bright/bold tones, I love these muted tones, still so rich with pigment.
I noticed you don't seem to have a lot of greens? That is what I seem to have most of I think for doing floral/nature type things.
I am adding the saltwater taffy to my list, love that color.

Another take on your pink(ish) needs would be to look at Victorian Velvet. It's a muted pinkish mauve that plays nice with spun sugar (and also with speckled egg or iced spruce if you're going for more contrast). I tend to go for a lot of the more muted shades.
My most-used shades are (in no particular order): faded jeans broken china salvaged patina peacock feathers speckled egg victorian velvet scattered straw aged mahogany
I don't use much purple, so the only purple-family color I have in distress ink is shaded lilac - it's a lovely periwinkle blue/purple. In the distress oxide ink I also have wilted voilet, which is all the purple I need, LOL.

Here's a Christmas card made with it: youtu.be/yrGirqPqP1k - go to 3:57 and you'll see the ornament being painted with it. I've also seen it used on other Christmas cards but can't find them right now. It's also beautiful for florals and skies.

Brushed corduroy is a good brown. I am in love with Saltwater Taffy! Twisted Citron is a fun bright green. It just depends what you will use them for.

Gathered twigs Bundled Sage Hickory Smoke Weathered wood Fossilized Amber Abandoned Coral Aged Mahogany Tumbled Glass Victorian Velvet Wild Honey
Gathered twigs is currently at the top of the list with hickory smoke running a close second. Weathered wood is a lovely blue grey. It makes great snow! Villainous potion makes my purple heart go pitter patter but I don't use it much. I can see me using it for Halloween so it may make the favored list at a latter date. To me, salt water taffy is kind of blah.....

Making my own cards/papers/embellishments is my new MO and it's a lot cheaper AND I can make exactly what I need in the colors that I need. Have fun!! (ps - I love Worn Lipstick as a pink)

Shimelle shows salt water taffy with a few other pinks together at the beginning of this video. Start at 8 min youtu.be/sVSMhFnPDvoThen she combines it with a couple of blues towards the end of that part.

I lean much more into softer shades by the look of your list so far, my most used colours are Tattered Rose, Speckled Egg, and probably Spun Sugar. Honestly, I think I could cover 90% of my ink needs with those three + black.

Ooh after watching the videos it really looks like saltwater taffy is a bit of a chameleon. Looks peach next to the pinks. Looks pink next to Shimelle's peach. I still think I'm going to get it in the spray. It did look good next to the salvaged patina. And I don't have that color but super pretty combo. Ugh...I'm still on the fence. Ha! Can I just have them all? It would require a divorce from my husband...lol.

I think the Saltwater taffy is going to be versatile - it's muted yet bright so it pleases us all. I'd recommend it! I bought the reinker.
I started typing a list of my "favourite" colours and couldn't make decisions. So I'm just going to list my most used colours that I think would benefit any stash:
Evergreen bough - another chameleon, both green and blue.
Chipped Sapphire - a lovely dusty navy. Used a LOT by me.
Broken China - a fabulous blue. I think this is my most used colour

I'm really liking the new Saltwater Taffy. I've used it with Worn Lipstick and like the combo. Are they different enough? I really think the color is pretty too. So, I was using the Oxides, not the inks, so that may make a difference. But, the Worn Lipstick is little pinker and the Saltwater Taffy is a little peachier. So they make a nice mix I thought.

For edging I use mostly Walnut and two blues; broken china and Faded Jeans. Occassionally Vintage Photo. Other frequent fliers are Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmelade, Rustic Wilderness and Fired Brick.
I need to replace my most used blues, and am tempted to add Chipped Saphire to that purchase.

I don't have many, but Gathered Twigs is my all time favorite when I ink edges. I really want to pick up Saltwater Taffy, it looks so pretty.
