Besides eating Thanksgiving leftovers, I'm working on a collage made with Things That Shine. Life has been getting in the way lately, so it has been taking forever. I hope I get a bunch done on it this weekend.

Due to my kitchen renovations, there will be no Christmas decorating around here. That's how I usually spend Thanksgiving weekend. On the scrappy front, I have no special plans, just plugging along w/my pages.

What I'm actually doing: Working on moving the rest of my temporary particle board shelves and boxes of junk out of the way for my studio cabinets that will be coming in the next week or so. Excited about that. What I'm wishing I was working on: Redoing DD's Christmas stocking that got scorched and ruined because DH left them hanging too close to the gas fireplace last Christmas. I made it the year she was born and spent hours hand sewing on the sequins and beads and making an originally designed embroidered felt snowman for the front. It was beautiful. I could have cried it was so sad. I will redo it, but it will take hours and I don't know that it will get done this year.

I'm putting together my DD kit from my stash. So far I've pulled all the papers my from my stash but I still want to pull together some embellishments so I can hopefully just work from my kit for the next month.

I'm determined to get my year's photos organised and tagged properly in iPhoto. Fortunately there are a few different cricket games on over the weekend, so I can plonk myself down on the couch with the laptop and work at it while we watch.

I am also working on photos! I do Basic Grey calendar kits for my MIL and Mom each Christmas, and have to figure out which photos I'm using. Also, my hard drive crashed a couple of months ago, and I haven't yet got photoshop set back up on my repaired computer, so I'm WAY behind on pictures!
My shoulders are getting tight just thinking about it.

crazy4scraps, how sad that happened to your cherished heirloom! Not too many of my favorite Christmas movies are on today, so hopefully I'll stop Pea-ing and get scrappin'!

I'm pretty tired from several days of Christmas shopping (almost done!) and putting up my tree. If anything I'd like to go through some really old vacation picture and set them up to scrap next weekend. But more than likely I'll just crash out and watch movies.

crazy4scraps, how sad that happened to your cherished heirloom! Not too many of my favorite Christmas movies are on today, so hopefully I'll stop Pea-ing and get scrappin'! Thanks. The worst part is this. My mom's twin sister made all of us kids handmade stockings when we were born. They were beautifully embroidered and beaded works of art, and I spent many happy childhood Christmas mornings pulling out all of the treasures hidden inside. I loved it, and I loved her for making it. Anyway, the stockings were always stored in the attic with the other Christmas stuff. My mom had the roof redone when I was a teenager, there were water problems during construction. The bag they were in likely got wet, someone who didn't know what was inside probably tossed it without ever looking. So other than my oldest siblings who were out of the house by then and had taken theirs, all of our treasured stockings were lost. So when I turned DD's stocking around that morning (it was days after Christmas) and saw the whole front was scorched and brown, I was just devastated. Happy that the whole house didn't burn down, but devastated nevertheless. At least I have some gorgeous professional Christmas portraits of DD from a couple years ago where I thought to bring the stocking along as a prop, and the photographer took several shots of the filled stocking by itself.

Ugh! It must have been like reliving that nightmare. I hope you can fix it.
On a happier note, I did get 3 power layouts done today. Woo hoo! Hoping to get more done tomorrow, but Hallmark Channel is pulling me in . . .

I took photos of DS today for Christmas presents - calendar and scrapbook pages - I just need to print them out. I did 10 digital layouts this weekend so now I need to get reprints made in various sizes and get them into scrapbooks - really hoping that happens this week. I also need to edit the photos for the calendars so I can get them printed this week as well. I would really like to have these projects done by next weekend so I can breath and enjoy things a bit.
Tomorrow I need to install a printer and write up a review of the process and I am hoping to start printing some other prints for a few frames in the house that need updated photos - using photos I took today and make a few photo ornaments.
We need to put up more Christmas decorations as well. I need to finish a book I am reading so I can return it to the library Monday but have been sucked into Christmas movies - Hallmark channel and Facebook- I need to step away from the computer and tv.
Monday I am placing an order and it will include stuff for either a December Daily or Journal your Christmas (not sure which one I am doing yet)- stamp set and some paper for another Christmas project. I really want to start playing with some paper and stamps again.
I think I would cry if something like that happened with the stockings as well - there is so much work in them. I hope you can recreate it.

I normally do not scrap at home but with no upcoming crops I am going to spend the day on volume 2 of my niece's Ireland album. She paid me $225 to scrap her trip and I already sent her the first 50 pages in an album. I have about 30 pages left for volume 2.
My DH brought the Christmas boxes in so maybe he'll set up the tree for me and I'll hang up my wreath when I find it.

We got family pictures made yesterday and I got two more months done of my PL for 2014 with more printed and on the way for the next time I can work on it. I do monthly and am always "behind" since I only have time to work on it when there's a long weekend or break from school. So, I have most of summer done, will get fall done over Christmas, and probably finish 2014 President's Day weekend! That's so sad about your daughter's stocking! I still have mine that my grandmother made for me when I was little and while I don't use it as "my" stocking anymore, it gets used as a decoration every year. So glad you have the pictures at least!

I have a week off so I've been trying to catch up on a lot of things. Today I have been working on christmas cards but I am also planning to start decluttering on another day this week.

Mine will look as long as the layout is about them, but if I begin to point out anything technical (how hard it was to stitch something or how long it took to make that title, etc.) they're out.

Last night I finished the last five years of Christmas card pictures that go on a display. It is a clear album (on its side) that goes on a stand. I have all 21 years of my boys' pictures on it. It is my favorite decoration.

I installed a new printer and am editing and printing photos for calendar gifts and to update some frames. My patience level is at an all time low LOL. I think I finally have some things figured out but it has taken hours and lots of wasted paper and ink. I hate how the new printers no longer have settings for actual size so printing 4 x 6 means printing a tad larger and then it randomly cutting part of your print off - seriously the previous version of the printer didn't do that also if you tried to print an 8 by 10 on an 8.5 by 11 sheet it came out that size not a little bigger or smaller there was a way to save the settings so that it knew it was to print it actual size. I hate that I can't get my screen calibrated to the printer so what I see is what I get - seriously why not. Sometimes improvements are not really improvements - I am sad my old printer died in our recent move as I really liked it even though I wouldn't have been able to get ink for it much longer.
I will be so happy when I am done with this project. I also wish I didn't need 3.5 by 5.5 prints as it would make my life easier.

Just chipped away at our family album. I just started 2012. Got 3 pages done, which for me, is great! I'm really pleased with my layouts too. It was a good scrappy weekend!
