You might try Etsy for printable TNs--there are tons of sellers that sell printable TN inserts, usually calendars, trackers, etc., but I bet there are some that are more decorative with fun designs.
For not-too-cutesy TNs that are already printed, you could try Studio Calico, Ali Edwards, or Cocoa Daisy. I have a number of Cocoa Daisy and Studio Calico TNs that are grid/grid dot papers interspersed with basic designs like geometrics, florals, etc.
If you still have thinner patterned paper in your stash, there are some tutorials on YT for making your own TNs. I keep meaning to do this, but haven't gotten around to it yet....
Etsy is overwhelming. There's just so much. I think if I don't get any links, I will buy Geralyn's a make it work. I'll need to do some erasing.
We are taking a 7-day bike ride in the middle of a camping trip. Since we're bikepacking, I won't have room for anything more than a TN. I want to put ephemera in, make notes about photos, miles, etc. Just keep it simple then add it into the larger travel journal later. I don't usually write while we're traveling but I want to on this trip. I also know where we're staying each night so I could modify a template with my own text.
Look at The Digital Press and The Lilypad - lots of designers have created TN sets that you can print out. I love IACB / Geralyn Sy items too. (sorry for no links - on my ipad).

The Cocoa Daisy non-planner TNs are part of their memory keeping line, and are called Simple Doris. They sell them singly and in kits. Good quality paper and usually simple designs interspersed with grid, dot grid, and blank white pages.
blemon did you check Ali Edward’s site to see if she has her Travel collection TN available for purchase as a digital print out? That might work for your trip.

Thanks! I did. It was a lot of patterned paper that I would have to cover.
I ended up buying one of Geralyn's sets and getting everything ready in Photoshop. I had some digital files of other patterned paper I had bought in the past and changed colors to match one of the sheets from the AE rainbow kit. So for each day I will have a Day ___ page, a photo page (the filmstrips from Geralyn), an info page (from Geralyn's travel basics), and then a pattern paper.
No two pages will be the same. I've got a couple of pages in the beginning to add extra stuff to and also a couple at the end.
I am actually so excited about this.
I printed an image of a bike onto velvet paper for the cover (I use it to make rugs for the dollhouse but hey, use up that stash). It looks amazing.
Then bummer --- no paper! I want thin paper and only had 2 sheets left of the presentation paper. So I ordered from Amazon and have to wait a million year. Regular printer paper won't work for printing double sided and card stock is too thick.
But everything is ready and we don't leave until June. As soon as I get it printed, I'll post some pics.
I really appreciate all the help!
I even modified some of the xmas stuff I had bought from Geralyn. It's so easy to change colors in Photoshop.

I couldn't quite find exactly what I was looking for so I made my own.
It was a lot of work but this is what I need: something that has a formula for each day but still flexible.
The caption for the Instagram is quite long but I explained the process.
My printer cuts 1/4" off each side so it's actually just 8" tall. Nothing I could do about that. I would have to sacrifice top/bottom or sides so I went with top/bottom.
For the pattern paper I used a lot of AE digital files and some others I had bought from other sellers in the past and just changed the colors. I pulled a color palette from one of the AE papers so that it would be consistent throughout.
I'm so happy with this! I'm going to go ahead and use the date stamp to stamp the dates in. And for each day I think I will try stamping the number. If it looks awful, I'll just cover them up with stickers or stamp again and cut it out and put it on top.
You can see through it somewhat but it did not bleed through. And it's really only the darker colors and black. It's not bad. Anything thicker would have been too thick to fold with this many pages.
I also have a booklet stapler that I bought a million years ago. Best purchase ever.

This is just a lovely and very professional looking book. I can't believe you made that! You could certainly sell that.
It's all Geralyn! I don't have the skills for the graphic design that she does. I just move things around in photoshop and erase stuff I don't like. A couple of the files were from a Holiday TN pack. But thank you! I trimmed very carefully so it would be neat.
This is amazing! I love it! I love the balance of documentation, space for journaling & photos. Could you please show it to us when you’ve completed it?
I LOVE this. I don't think I have the patience to create the book but I would purchase in a heartbeat! I'm still trying to figure out how I could use the bicycle printed on velvet paper on a scrapbook page.
My husband and I cycle as well. We live near (2 hrs away) from the Katy Trail and haven't ridden it yet. We also did the C&O Canal and Great Allegheny Passage last summer. The towpath was the worst! I thought I was going to have difficulty in the mountains but managed those much better than the towpath. (I don't have a gravel bike. It was needed!)
Enjoy your trip and I would love to see your complete TN!

I got the velvet paper on Amazon and was so happy it worked so well. Thank you!

That is so cool to hear! I wish you had ridden the Katy trail because I am dying to know how the surface compares to the freaking towpath. SO MUCH resistance. Like you could never get a break. It was pedal pedal pedal. So much mud! And two copperheads. The longest ride we did before the towpath was 27 miles. And our longest day on the towpath was 38 miles (where we ended in Shepherdstown and I booked us the super expensive Bavarian Inn because I needed one day to not camp -- and that pool!). We are used to elevation because of where we live (about an hour from almost every trailhead of the Gap). We just started training and I'm already doing so much better than last year. We only trained for about 6 weeks before leaving. But this year we got a bit of a head start and are trying to ride at least twice a week. And this year I'm shelling out the cash for hotels. I told my husband that I can either extreme bike ride or camp without access to running water. Not both.
I just hope we can get a couple of 40-milers in before we leave. I know I can do it but I need my muscles to know that.

Very nice, blemon! Knowing my lazy arse, I would've bought an blank TN, undone the stitches or staples and printed right on top of those pages.
Have loads of fun on your trip! I'm with you on paying for decent accomodations whenever they're available. Give me a good bed and a nice bathroom after a long day of walking/trekking.
I'm back from the trip. The TN was a success (although my ride was not).
My daughter (14) LOVED working in it. Each day we'd take a few minutes to write down the stats for the day and go through photos. We brought sticky notes and marker pens.
All I have to do is print out photos and stick them in. It will go in a page protector of the same size in the Travel Journal of the whole trip. I'll add other summer adventures as well.

So here's my take on the Katy. Don't do it in the heat! I got heat sickness day 1 even though I drank a ton of water. My potassium level got too low and I couldn't stop shaking. I got sick. I had to go to the ER in Sedalia. Then when they released me at 2:00 a.m. I had to walk back to the hotel as there are no taxis or Lyft there. It was awful.
So I had to skip day 2 and take a shuttle to the next town. Then I rode some every other day. 13 miles, then 20 miles, then the last 29. I took shuttles which ended up costing a total of $215 and I haven't even got the ER bill yet.
The first two days (Clinton to Sedalia and Sedalia to Boonville) have significant elevation gains (640 feet, then like 500 feet). Some areas have no shade at all. None. But the surface is great. Not as great as the GAP but great, nothing like the C&O. The Katy's worst is the towpath's best.
I think since you live close, you'll be better able to choose a time based on the weather. If you want any rec's for hotels, food, or shuttle companies, let me know.
We did have a good trip overall. I spent a lot of time in hotels playing candy crush on my phone.
My daughter and husband loved it. They are planning on doing the GAP later this Summer (and I will be the support team). My days of riding in the heat are over. I can't even stand heat at all right now. I hope I get over it.
Anyway.
I'll post pics of the album in the next couple of days.

That sounds like quite an experience, eeeekk! I'm happy to hear that you and your daughter enjoyed the TN process. Hopefully that will leave you with more happy memories than the ride and heat. And sending wishes for a small ER bill... fingers crossed!
