So I made DS's title page for his pocket page album and it is 3 years combined because 2020 and 2021 didn't have a whole lot going on. Anyways I print the 3 photos and get them on the page and then quickly realize...there are only 2 number 2's in each letter sticker set I was looking at. It would be sooooooooooooooo cool if letter sticker companies also made straight numbers and vowels/frequently used letters that you could buy that match the letter set. Why has not happened yet?! I will often times buy 2 sets BUT then I end up wasting a whole bunch of letters I don't use. So I give them to DS or friends with small kids to have fun with. If any scrap company is reading this, please make this happen. All I ask for in return is a free set for floating the idea out there

Shimelle talked about this one of her lives. She said some manufacturers DID do that and they didn’t sell.

I thought this was a huge missed opportunity during the project life boom years - I wanted all the extra 1s and 2s. I also wanted extras of the day letters M T W F S because I always used them up so quickly. Some companies were better than others, some didn’t even try.
I used to get very frustrated when using letter stickers to spell Japanese place names too - almost every second letter is a vowel and many places have multiple As or Os. If you go to Kanazawa, Okayama, Nagasaki and Kumamoto you’re going to need to buy a lot of sheets of stickers! (or switch to stamps, which is what I did).

I would love that.
I thought they probably didn't sell them that way because they make more money when buyers need to buy multiple sets just to make a few titles.

That would be awesome.
My project of the moment is going through a big stack of partially used alphabet/letter sheets, and making whatever words I can. Once I do that, I will mix and match patterns, if any coordinate. I went through my photos and made a list of possible words. Hoping having premade words, will save me time when I am scrapbooking.
I always seem to be one letter short of a word. Nowadays, I buy double-triple-quadruple depending on how many most used letters come on a sheet. I would love an extra sheet of >> A-E-O-N-T-R-S-B with each alphabet set.

2022 is a BIG problem for mumber stickers because rarely are there 3 number 2 stickers. I have used Z in a pinch because I often have 3 Z's.

It continues to baffle me this frequent request is never fulfilled. I stopped buying letter stickers years ago & invested in alpha dies (& a couple stamps) in basic/usable fonts that can be cut using any paper & layered for dimension, so I always have enough vowels!

I have 4 QK alphas. Think it is time to invest in some stamps.

It's the year 2022 people! We need LOTS of 2's. We have seven more years of this decade and it's the 21st century. I'm having a hard time finding number metal dies in various sizes. Plenty of metal alphas. Same issue with stamps.

This is one of the reasons I picked up a set of number dies. Well the other one is that I have five dgs's all close to the same age, and I was always running out of number stickers anyway!

This is one of the reasons I check the quantity of each of the letters I most frequently run out of compared to those I rarely run out of. If there are a disproportionate number of E's to J's and K's and B's, then I'll usually pass on the set.
I often hear it said that manufacturers tried selling packs of commonly used letters and it didn't perform well enough. We've been around a long time, does anyone actually remember that?
The only one I actually recall doing it was a company called Collections (I think) on some chipboard alphas. I thought it was such a great idea, and I bought a set to make my original alpha purchase go further.

I do not remember any company doing that and I have been scrapbooking since 2000 (really got into it in 2002). I never saw packs at any LSS, Michael's, JoAnn's, or on-line.

That’s why I use my Silhouette so often. I get to cut as many 2s and vowels as I want in whatever size and color I want.

Yep. That's why I use my Cricut, Silhouette, dies, and stamps. I haven't bought letter or number stickers for many years. The only exceptions are when they're included with a paper collection pack. And if you can believe it, I've never bought Thickers. I've received some in "goody bags," but I've never actually bought them. I make my own with Fun Foam and dies/die cutting machines.

Same. The only alpha stickers I get now are ones that are included in my monthly subs and I wish I could tell them to leave the alpha stickers out.

I’ve been scrapbooking since 1997 and only once did I ever see a manufacturer make a separate sheet of most used vowels and consonants. It was Me and My Big Ideas and they were clear black stickers (I still have them but they’re OLD!). If I had to option to buy an extra sheet with more As, Es, Ms and Ls I’d do it when I bought the original set to make sure I had them.

Shimelle mentioned on a recent YT live that such a thing existed (popular letters/vowels) but it didn't sell well so they stopped making. No idea who the manufacturer was. I do have Thicker sets that are all numbers that I've had for years. One that comes to mind is a white, glitter chipboard number set. It's very pretty!

With my luck I would buy the extra vowels, then run out of some important consonant and need 3 sets of stickers, then I would probably use all the e's from the first three sets and need a 4th set... in an endless cycle. I think I need to go kiss my Silhouette

Same here. Only I use my Cameo now more than my alpha dies or stamps. However, not everyone can afford or wants to buy dies, stamps, and/or an electronic cutter, so it’s puzzling to me that manufacturers won’t meet the wishes of those who still buy the alpha stickers.

I have a Cricut, so I can make as many letters and numbers as I want, whenever I want.
That said... I have a small hoard of Thickers stickers for a title page idea. I just hope that the eventual project turns out how it looks in my head. I'll be very, very disappointed if it doesn't just because of how many sets I've been keeping for it.

I love Thickers and dimensional alphabet stickers. I have 2 milk crates full of them and I'm always looking for more. I've collected them over the past 20 years, a lot of times from discount places- Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Ollies, etc. When I found discounted ones I'd buy up a ton of packages- often multiples of specific fonts. I am so glad I did that- I love having the perfect alphabet for every page.
I do run out of letters- usually vowels and Ls. I have a nephew with a double L name and packs never seem to have enough of those. I hate that there are not enough 2s for scrapping this year. I'm pretty good at cutting letters to make other letters. This works great with the foam ones.
I also hate that there isn't enough punctuation- especially apostrophes. I usually cut up my Qs to make them but a lot of the time they seem slightly wonky. I like when packs include asterisks or hearts or hashtags- when I use a glitter alphabet I like to use a glitter shape in one of my clusters so it balances the page out.
I've noticed that American Crafts is making a lot more phrase packs and not as many alphabet packs. I hate that- how many "dream"s or "imagine"s does anyone need?

artbabe I haven't been to Tuesday Morning in a while, but I did add a few to my stash from there. I need to see if the Big Lots near us is still open. I heard it was closing, but haven't been able to find the time to make it there. Ollie's is such a crazy store. I think my husband and I are going antiquing this weekend (because isn't that what all the 32 year olds do?), and maybe I'll see if we're near one.

I often hear it said that manufacturers tried selling packs of commonly used letters and it didn't perform well enough. We've been around a long time, does anyone actually remember that? I wonder if this is another case of disconnect about who the manufacturers are talking about when they say "buyers" didn't buy that. Not us, the retail consumers, but the buyers who stock the retail shops. So often when things don't do well I think it's because the shop buyers didn't see a demand or use for it. The retail consumer never even knew it existed, most likely, so how could they know to ask for it to be in stock?

I think my husband and I are going antiquing this weekend (because isn't that what all the 32 year olds do?), and maybe I'll see if we're near one. Tuesday Morning has practically nothing that isn't mixed media and storage. I still buy stuff from there (just bought some Iris cases yesterday) but they don't really have scrapbook supplies anymore. This is a shame- they used to have such great scrapbook stuff. Big Lots also doesn't carry scrapbook supplies anymore. They have totally changed their store- most of their furniture, bedding, decor, etc. is their own brand now. No longer buyout odd lots. I haven't been to Ollie's in forever but I'm guessing they don't carry scrapbook stuff anymore, either. I need to stop by anyway- it is definitely an interesting place. We used to have a Flower Factory here too. It was a fantastic place for scrapbook supplies but it went out of business. So basically we are all out of luck when it comes to discount scrapbook shopping. Columbus used to have 8 scrapbook stores, including an Archivers, but now has none. So that leaves Joann, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby. All 3 of those have started selling their own brands. Some of the stuff is good but a lot is "meh" or really old. So now I have to buy all of my letter stickers online.
