If you unmounted your wood block stamps at some point, what did you do with the wood blocks afterwards? How did you discard them? Or was there a cool re-use for them? Did they go into the huge "good scrap wood" pile in your husband's workshop like I suspect mine will?
Thankfully I only have a few but it seems like really nice wood and practically brand new. My FIL would enjoy burning it but I'd love to hear other ideas if there are any...

I handed my DH a bag full and asked him dump them in the recycle bin, he looked at me like I had 3 heads. I suspect those blocks of wood are still sitting in his workshop somewhere.

I have a friend who makes wood toys. Does he need 4 blocks of wood? I'm relatively local to you (Kitsap Co.) so I could mail them if he would make good use of them!

They also make blocks for punches, wrap a paper sack around it to make very fine sander, a paper weight to keep paper in place when working, and you'll think of other things too. Where in Kitsap are you? My friend Tona lives in Seabeck, but goes to Scrapbook Zone.

The few times I've been in there I didn't have the best experience.

I gave some of mine away to a local cub scout group. Some I threw away because I was moving halfway across the country and needed to keep the weight of what we were moving down.
They can be used to make vinyl applied home decor items, if they are the right size, such as a letter per block, plus an image or two, to make a wood cluster decor item. I wish I’d been able to keep some of them.

I went to a workshop given by Kae Pea (Rubbermoon and The Moon and the Maker) at The Queen’s Ink in Maryland once where we made little houses from blocks! They were covered with patterned paper (a coating of gesso lightens or ages bright patterns), added little wood or drawn in windows/doors, etc. Some blocks had been sawed into triangles for peaked roofs. I stamped my fave wonky cat to look out a window. A hole was drilled in the roof and a coiled piece of jewelry wire added for smoke. Googling for photos at The Queen’s Ink stumbled upon an old thread on SCS when I used to visit there. A photo of the very unfinished house is there. Someone else made an ATG gun holder from blocks. Other ideas are out there. www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/general-stamping-talk-17/uses-those-stamp-blocks-dont-throw-those-blocks-away-623133/

There are some interesting ideas there! The ATG one made me laugh.

After storing them for a while, we ended up using them for kindling.

I'm the crazy person that paid someone for a large priority box filled to the top of unused wooden blocks. I thought it would be fun to do random mixed media decor type crafts using paint, stencils, fabric, paper, etc.

He's already taking up enough space around here! And the thought of trashing/burning them makes me a little sad. I might ask on my local Buy Nothing group and see if anyone wants to make something from them.

What a great store! I would love to go back if they are still open.

What a great store! I would love to go back if they are still open. They’re still there, just moved to a nearby space in the same restored Savage Mill building. They’re concentrating on classes now - have so many good ones, and Patty just posted about their first on-line class. They’re a good hour+ for me in ugly traffic from Virginia - and I used to plan on two hours in case of fender benders, etc. But it’s a great place with the most unusual classes!

I threw them away, after asking my husband and father-in-law if they wanted them for woodworking projects. They didn't want them, and I needed the blocks out of the house.

Thanks for the ideas For now I'm storing them in my circular file (clean paper trash can). If I can't give them away or think of anything useful to do with them by the time the bin gets full they'll end up going back to the earth in the form of ashes.
