Do you still use regular Distress inks? If so, what do you use them for? How are you using them differently than Oxides?
Several scrappers and card makers I watch have said all they buy anymore is Distress Oxides. Honestly, that is all I have been getting lately as well. Although sometimes I like the brighter colors that regular Distress Inks have, the Oxides stamp better, blend better and in general I just like them more. I find I hardly use my regular Distress Inks at all.
Thoughts?

When Oxides first came out I was totally smitten. And I used them all.the.time. I still love how they blend and layer up. But I really don't like the "oxidized" look. I only use them now if I'm doing a specific technique or I want colored embossing. (Stamp with oxide, emboss in clear). I have about 40 or 45 colors.
I prefer the vibrancy of regular distress ink. Yes, it takes a little more elbow grease to blend but I like it so much better. I have all the cube sets, but I'm thinking of purchasing my favorites (most used) in full sized pads.

They are two different inks, so some times I want the inky look and sometimes I want the paint-like look of the oxides.
The only thing I am doing different with oxides versus the regular inks is that I am only buying the brighter happier colors. I don't need any of the more vintage-like colors. I rarely use those in the regular inks. If I was starting over with the regular inks, I would not buy any of the dingier colors.

Yes, I use both. It depends on what look I want to achieve and my mood.

I have only started to purchase the Distress Oxides. I have a large number of the regular distress inks, and I go back and forth between the two. I mostly use the inks for inking edges, so it isn't really a huge deal either way. I recently did some mixed media/watercolouring with some Distress Inks and I was pleased with the effect. Sadly I think I will still accumulate both. Initially I was resolved not to get the Oxides, so I am just going back and purchasing the colours I need as it comes up.

I really only have the oxides. If I want a dye based ink, I prefer Gina K., Pink Fresh, etc.

I ink the edges of my projects, use through stencils, ink blending. I use them the same I would use my Oxides, however it just gives me a different look/feel to a project.

I mostly have oxides as I use them for stamping more than anything else. I've been slowly replacing the distress inks I have with oxides as I've noticed it's a colour I wish I could use for stamping. I think I've only got two distress inks left now, and then only because the difference between the ink and the oxide is much more noticeable and I really like the distress ink colour better.

Yes I love mine. When a new color comes out I always order both.
I love distress inks for watercoloring. Also for stamping when I want a more clear look, not a chalky look like I get with Oxides.

I actually prefer the regular Distress inks to the Oxides. I think they blend better and have a more vibrant color. I only bought a few Oxides to play with techniques, but so far I'm not really impressed. I know I'm in the minority, but that's OK.
