Bob Schneider (a musician who is very popular in Austin) sings a version of The Pogues' "Fairy Tale in New York" that is amazing. I saw him in concert last night in Houston, and the whole thing was incredible.

Oh Holy Night is my favorite Christmas carol. It makes me tear up almost every time.
Sleigh Ride (the instrumental version) is my favorite fun holiday song

Oh Holy Night is my favorite Christmas carol. It makes me tear up almost every time. Sleigh Ride (the instrumental version) is my favorite fun holiday song Me too! The first sung by Johnny Mathis (oh, those violins . . . ) and the second by the Boston Pops.

I love a lot of them, but when I am feeling all Christmasy, I go old school. REALLY old school.
My favorites are O Come Emmanuel, Greensleeves, Handel's Messiah, and a few others of that ilk. I find there is extraordinary comfort in the tradition of it all.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. I've really been loving the version by Cat Power that was used on last year's Apple "Misunderstood" commercial. It's a little bit of a sad song to me, especially the line about "through the years we all will be together" since Christmas these days is a whole lot different than the Christmases of my youth, and this version has the right kind of feeling to it, not too perky, just right.

I love Christmas music and could never pick just one favorite! I probably have around 150 Christmas music CDs, I've never counted. Among my favorites would be Emmanuel, God With Us and Breath of Heaven, both by Amy Grant, Carol of the Bells (any that is instrumental), and a song called The Gift by Aselin Debison. I first heard that song on the radio in the car when I was pregnant and all emotional. I had to pull over because I was bawling so bad!
ETA: I'm also partial to Believe by Josh Groban from The Polar Express soundtrack. That man sounds like an angel to me!

I bought a lot of them when I had my LSS and would have to listen to *something* all day and night when I was at work 12-14 hours a day, so I figured I might as well listen to something I liked! I would get tired of the ones that I had, so I would buy some new ones every year. I only put about ten of them on my iPad/iPod Christmas playlist though.

I Believe in Father Christmas by Emerson, Lake and Palmer is quite high on my list.
I have too many favorites to commit to just one being my absolute favorite.

Oh Holy Night is my traditional favorite.
Little Drummer Boy sung by David Bowie and Bing Crosby is my old favorite.
Mary Did You Know sung by Panatonix is my new favorite.
Sorry - couldn't choose just one.

The Temptation's version of Silent Night. I love old Motown music anyway and have several CDs of Motown bands doing covers of Christmas carols.

I think I'd have to say Sleigh Ride. It makes me want to get up and dance.
Although it's a bit weird singing about sleigh rides in the snow when it's summer here!
