Hello 2Peas!!! Here we are with a new month and a new SheetLoad sketch! I like this sketch a lot and I hope that you will give it a try. The video with the download youtu.be/IhSp1g90soAAnd then process video youtu.be/Ai_USaCIQGcThis month's challenge to do something unexpected with the sketch. I turned mine into an easel cards. You can do an unexpected color combo, sentiment or reveal. Get creative!!! Point counting: Sketch creates 8 cards that is 8x10 points = 80 + 10 points for taking up the challenge, that a total of 90 points. We are in a new quarter so remember if you create the SheetLoads for the next 3 months you can collect an additional 200 points! Tagging grammadee.

This looks like a good one! I love what you did with the sketch. I like that this is another 6x6 paper design and a creative way to do mini slimline without wasting a lot of cardstock (although I have been using Ardyth PR's tip to chop each sheet of cardstock into a mini slimline and a square 4.25" card which also eliminates almost all of the waste). I hope to watch the process video this weekend and make time to craft some.

azcrafty, you did it again. Your cards are the best! I especially like the vertical orientation. I am not a fan of the slimline cards because they don't fit in the boxes I use when I give a box of cards as a gift. I really like what you did with yours, though, so I am looking for paper to make mine. Thanks for hosting this.

This looks like fun, and I like that all the thinking is done I looked through the sheetloadofcards tag on IG and noticed that the cards are generally fairly flat. Is it important to use flat (paper) embellishments?

MichyM I'm happy you like the SheetLoad of cards sketches. I love them and since I found them I'm using my patterned papers instead just collecting them 🙂. When you are using flat embellishments its easier to mail the cards. I love texture and layers so usually I do what I like.

This looks like fun, and I like that all the thinking is done I looked through the sheetloadofcards tag on IG and noticed that the cards are generally fairly flat. Is it important to use flat (paper) embellishments? I was thinking you might enjoy sheetloads - it's a great jumping off point. If you check out Call Me Crafty Al's videos she has a hashtag with lots of YT collabs as well. There have been some really great sketches and interpretations. Definitely no need to stay flat! But if you add lumpy bits you usually need to add an extra ounce stamp if you mail them because the post office considers them "non machinable." No big deal, it's only an extra 30-ish cents or you can get pretty butterfly non-machinable stamps.

Thank you both. I wasn't sure if there was an "unspoken rule" that to play along and/or post, that the cards need to be flat. Working on my first set with some leftover papers and adornments from the most recent card exchange I especially like the size and that the card front is offset on this month's design.

I also made a set. The paper I used was double sided so I had lots of options. In hindsight, they are awfully busy for my taste. Using PP on cards is going to take more practice on my part!

I like them, MichyM. They’re fun and cheerful. The colors in the papers and elements pick up on each other. I especially like the garden glove one.

jjpeapea what a lovely set of cards, that butterfly pp is very pretty and love that you added your butterfly to the edge . Thats a great idea!!! MichyM I love your cheerful cards they are very colorful. I like your choice of pp. As a suggestion I hope its ok. You can always add a circle or any shape of vellum paper behind your ephemeras to separate it from the patterned paper , it might gives you what you are looking for. I do this alot with busier patterned papers.

Lovely cards jjpeapea (putting the butterflies off the edge, genius!) and MichyM (so colorful!). I agree with azcrafty that a little bit of vellum in a circle or oval would probably give you the separation you need, but most of the cards are not too busy IMO. And they'd all go down a treat with seniors if you wanted to donate them. (I'm not sure if you already have plans for them but Bring Smiles to Seniors would love them.)

Love all the cards shared here. I still have to look up the video for this month, but the design looks fun from what I am seeing here!

jjpeapea, you and I were on the same wavelength this month with butterflies. I love your big bold butterflies that overlap the opening and fit the design so well. Your tiny butterfly background are so pretty too. Beautiful cards with wonderful sentiments. MichyM, I love the bright and cheerful colors on your cards. The die cuts you have chosen of flowers of all colors are so beautiful. Gorgeous cards. I made 8 of these cards using a hodge-podge of 6x6 papers and scraps. I am always short on birthday cards so added the Happy Birthday sentiment. There is nothing surprising to fit the theme this month, except inside they say, "there is absolutely no reason to act your age". I will give them to my "more mature" friends. LOL. You ladies are ROCKIN' this challenge! azcrafty, your easel cards are fun and colourful. Love how you layered the diecut butterflies over the stamped (or is that a paper?) ones, jjpeapea. And the colours are so soft and pretty. Your cards are so bright and cheerful, MichyM. I never know what to do with floral diecuts, and I think you gave me the answer. nylene, there is love in the Gallery. Thanks for the inspiration. I just made a list of the May cards I need, and there are TEN on the list! I had better get crackin'.

Here are my cards, starting with some VB papers and then doing some mixing and matching on the finishing touches. Four birthday cards and four Mothers' Day. Just two more cards to do for May--and one extra will get me the even dozen for Eddie-n-Harley 's 12-card challenge.

I had a paper pack that I had found difficult to use - the papers are very bold and bright and they're coated, so slightly glossy. I decided not to even try mixing and matching, I liked that this sketch worked just as well with one paper per card. Sometimes I changed the orientation of the small inside piece but mostly I just left it the way it was chopped off the main piece. I used mostly shiny cardstock for the sentiments. The black is actually cut from old notebook covers. These are for Bring Smiles to Seniors. I have lots more to make - I love that there's no waste, they're quick and mindless to cut, and I have multiples of each of these papers so I might just use the whole paper pack on these. http://instagram.com/p/CcLtG8Kvy0k

Great way to make the sketch work for what materials you had, joblackford! I love that big HELLO, and how you extended it over the edge of the front panel. And it seems to look awesome whatever you cut it from. I think my favourite cards, though, are the ones with a hit of black. Using a notebook cover is genius!

Great cards grammadee. Love how colorful they are and that you used leftover pp . joblackford what a beautiful set of cards for the seniors. It will definitely bring some smiles 😊 . Great idea to use a bold sentiment with a busier pattern and the over lapping on the edge is an excellent idea too. Who makes that die? I might needed to make quick cards to donate. Thank you both for playing and sharing with us your great ideas!

joblackford , your cards are so pretty. I love the big florals with just that little white strip break. Using the piece you cut off was a great idea. I love the big Hello dies. I think your cards using them are some of my all-time favorites you make. It is such a beautiful and classy way to say hello. Your mix of "hello" colors is excellent. Each looks like it was designed for that background. Beautiful set! I have used a file-type folder cover for some of my titles. I love the shine and they are inexpensive just before school starts. Your cards remind me to resupply this fall.
