Are there any that are really worth the time to stop by (aka, they carry unique and/or hard to find items)?
I'll be predominately in the Midtown/Hell's Kitchen area as well as downtown in Soho and/or the West Village. Will also be out of town one day driving to and from Storm King with a stop in Beacon on the way back.
Thanks a bunch!

I used to live in NYC and the only good store is/was a stamping one (but I am not a stamper). Other than that, there was an art store but I don't remember the name off the top of my head.

Don’t know of any craft stores, but just wanted to say that Storm King is fantastic! Was there about 8 years ago and loved it!

If only The Ink Pad was still open! Sigh... Casey Rubber Stamps is definitely worth a visit - if you're into rubber stamps, of course. It's on E. 11th St in the East Village and has been around forever. The stamps are handmade in the shop! They are not open in the morning so if you want to go in, plan accordingly. www.caseyrubberstamps.com/

Adding that you are going to love storm king. We are members and love wandering around there. I made a mini album of our adventures each month. There aren’t any local stores up here that I know of. They have all shut down. ☹️

If not this trip, next one (I’m out 2-3 times a year).

I've never been to Casey's, but when I worked at The Ink Pad, that's where we ordered personalized stamps. I have to visit now that I will be working in person starting next week. I work in Chelsea/SoHo a few days a week, and further uptown on the other days. Sadly, we don't have much left in terms of stamping and scrapbooking in NYC anymore - not that we ever had that much to begin with. We have a couple of Michael's stores, but they aren't anything out of the ordinary. Enjoy your trip! I think you'll enjoy it.
