But nope. Definitely not.
Taste is great - texture is a no go.
I wasn't a fan of hot oatmeal growing up (even with copious amounts of milk & brown sugar) but I so loved the idea of these.
But no, just not for me!

I'm with you. Soggy raw oats just aren't my thing. I do, however, love cooked oatmeal.

I tried them a few different ways and I have to say they are the grossest thing I have ever eaten. I don’t see why they are so popular.

I am convinced it is something people say they like but they really have to force themselves to eat it. I am not a fan of hot oatmeal most of the time, cold oatmeal that’s been sitting for days sounds like my absolute worst food nightmare.

DD will make them, then heat them up. I just make oatmeal in the morning. Takes 5-7 minutes on the stove. I add cinnamon, chia seeds, hemp hearts and some berries or banana if I've got.

My dh loves them. He warms them up the next day. What are you putting in them? To me they taste just like reg oatmeal. I make his with oatmeal, oatmilk, some strawberry yogurt, fresh berries, some granola, chia seeds, and brown sugar.

what are overnight oats? I thought when I read OP that you were talking about oatmeal cooked in a slow cooker overnight. I love those. But then I loved the oatmeal my mother used to make when I was a kid.
ETA Just googled this. No thanks. I do not like the idea of soggy raw oats, so won't even try them. I might make a batch of my oatmeal, though, put the leftovers in the fridge, and then heat it up in the microwave when i am ready to eat it later.

I don't like oats any way served - cookies, over night, cold, hot. Ewwwww.
Taste, texture, mouth feel, getting stuck up along the gum line or teeth or cheek. Nope.
Also those little black seeds people rave about and make "pudding." Even more gross. Eta: chia seeds

But then I loved the oatmeal my mother used to make when I was a kid. 1 to 1 ratio of steel cut oats and milk of choice plus sometimes chia seeds, yogurt, fruit, nuts in a cute Mason jar that you set overnight in fridge with no cooking.

STEEL CUT OATS is the operative phrase here. Most people make "overnight oats" with the quick cooking Quaker Oats and that just turns to freaking sludgy mush. ewwwww So, OP, maybe switch to different oats.

oh yea, you can NOT use quick oats. I don't use steel cut either, I use the old fashioned oats

As a person with some texture issues , on paper I should not like these, but I love them. My favorite is one called apple pie overnight oats: Old fashioned oats, almond milk, cooked apples and Greek yogurt all layere-served cold. Love it.

I don’t like them either. I just make my oatmeal in the morning when I get up. Just takes a few minutes!

I am convinced it is something people say they like but they really have to force themselves to eat it. This made me LOL and is pretty much what DS said to DH a few months ago. DH and my sis have an oatmeal tradition that I take a hard pass on. DS decided to join them and I almost said "you don't have to finish them if you don't like them' but realized I was projecting and he is 23 so more than capable of looking after himself. A few weeks later he confessed that they were the grossest thing he'd ever eaten and accused DH of pretending to like them because they are healthy. Oatmeal is to be used for apple crumbling topping or chocolate chip cookies.

If you don't like them or don't even like the sound of them, don't eat them. I think natto sounds nasty. But is is popular in Japan I don't assume the Japanese are being untruthful. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9a7LKle9AQ

I will cook a weeks worth and portion it out to grab in the morning. Look, overnight oats! haha
I get the concept. I like the idea of it. The uncooked texture bothers me. Maybe it is the type of oats I use? I will agree that the flavour is good (I have tried a few).

i have the opposite issue. i think i would like the texture but not the taste. i know you can sprinkly stuff on but my idea of sprinkles is probably not the healthy idea of sprinkles.

I don't mind the texture and taste...but my body doesn't handle the uncooked oats well at all. I'm currently making a double-batch of cooked oatmeal that I cook with frozen berries and sprinkle with seeds (pumpkin & flax or sesame & sunflower). I eat half and warm up the second half on day 2.
Last week I made my Grandma's oatmeal cookie recipe and had that for breakfast every day. LOL

Both of my dd's are making them almost every night. The oats aren't soggy. They eat them cold. I've tried making them and they're good, but I have to heat mine up, can't do it cold.
