I know we have a few (not many but still) folks who enjoy/have anjoyed Happy Planner products in the past on this board. I also know there was talk about the decline in quality, particularly that of the paper. I received a new 18-month planner and Happy Notes today. Both are from the spring 2022 release that came out in late February in the US (it takes time to get these to Europe!). I just wanted to share I immediately noticed a positive change in the paper smoothness, especially in comparison to the rough finish on the 2021-2022 range (last year's releases). While I'm not exactly sure the paper weight matches that of early HP days, it's most definitely soft and smooth to the touch again. Both the planner AND the Happy Notes paper. I was very pleasantly surprised. Covers are just as good as they've always been. Thought I'd share since these planners are already starting to go on sale in the US. This release could be worth a look in store! PS: The Stay in Your Magic Happy Notes (Blushin' It line) is adorable IRL and has a small black & white heart print all over the inside covers and along the page margin.

I have a 2022 12 month HP (Dogs) and I noticed the weight is lighter than my first HP back in 2018. They both seem smooth to me. Dd had a HP in 2021 and it also feels smooth to me, like my current one. 2019 I tried EC, and 2021 I had a planner from Amazon. I can't remember who I used in 2020. Only used 2 months of it and then I think I tossed it. LOL

The dividers seem thicker though! Which is nice.

I'm really picky with the smoothness of paper (fountain pen user) and it stood out to me. I'm happy to report the paper is back to the usual HP smoothness standard. Dividers seem to be of identical quality of my 2020 and 2019 Happy planners. Paper weight has not gone back to what HP offered in my first memory-planning days (2016), alas.
