There is one thing that really is eye-opening for me on this thread. For EVERYTHING that Jesus Christ did for mankind, the conditions and the mocking that He endured on earth and the public shaming and being so humiliated while on the cross, to die for all of us, for those who may have eternal life upon confession of our faith in Him and not to be able to "get up early, 1 (ONE) day of the year, to honor the many sacrifices and to acknowledge that He died on the cross and that HE arose from the dead on the 3rd day is uncomprehensible. (sorry for the run-on sentence). ONE day, to get up early and worship -- 1 day out of 365! I am supposing that sleep and comfort in bed has a higher priority than worshiping Christ's Resurrection. I don't go to a dawn service because my church doesn't do one, not because I can't be bothered getting out of bed! We do go to the late night Vigil Mass, I always read and DH helps the priests with the incense and candles. We all do what we can, and please remember - it is NOT our place to judge the actions of others, especially when we don't know their circumstances.

quiltz I’m glad you appreciate the sunrise service. But are you saying you believe a sunrise service is holier than the same service any other time of day? My church has two service times every week and neither is more or less than the other. And as the people of my church and others dedicate many hours over the weeks leading up to Easter, and 4+ hours per night of each performance, does our lack of a sunrise service say something? No. Does the fact that some other churches don’t do what we do say something about them? No. Does the fact that some don’t have a sunrise service mean less to God? No, God calls us each to different things. Ours is to obey what is asked of us. ETA “for those who may have eternal life upon confession of our faith in Him and not to be able to "get up early, 1 (ONE) day of the year, to honor the many sacrifices and to acknowledge that He died on the cross and that HE arose from the dead on the 3rd day is uncomprehensible.” What does the time of day have to do with it? I’m more concerned with, does the way I live my life honor his death and resurrection every day?

How judgmental, so very Christian like

Is this where I quote: Judge not
I find your statements offensive.
