luggage only. We are flying via Spirit tomorrow (I know, crappy airline but we would rather save that money for really nice accommodations etc). In any case we haven't flown but a few times in recent years and always had checked luggage. This time it's carry on only and I have checked in online. Does this mean we can skip going go the check in desk at the airport and go straight to security? I think it does, but I'm not 100% positive.

Yes, go straight to security. Just be sure you have your boarding pass digitally on your phone (or print one at the kiosk at the airport).

Have a good trip. I know others hate Spirit Airlines, but a few years' ago I flew on Spirit multiple times from Houston to Minneapolis and back and had no problems at all. They were always right on time.

I flew to Florida via Southwest would only carry-on and I just had my boarding pass on my phone and went right to security

Just flew Spirit last week. Be advised that they charge for carry-ons! One "personal item" is free. Here are the size requirements: www.seatguru.com/airlines/Spirit_Airlines/baggage.phpThe regular size carry ons are free for other airlines like Alaska. Spirit charges for soft drinks and water on plane. They canceled our flight home and didn't re-sched us until the next day. We had to book another night at our hotel to the tune of $235 which we weren't counting on. I'm trying to get them to pay for it. They first tried to feed me the line that the flight was cancelled due to weather & they don't reimburse for that. I have proof that is was cancelled due to staffing issues but I'm still fighting with them. Mary K

We've flown with them and Frontier a couple of times previously and had no issues. I am however worried about them canceling our flight. Not just because of the staffing/COVID issues, but we are in a severe weather area for today and at least part of tonight and we fly out early tomorrow morning.

Good luck.. they changed my flight three times already and I still don't fly till the end of May. The last change I cancelled it as it would not work for my schedule. Honestly I am relieved.
