I used to ink all the edges. I realized I was not stopping to consider if it looked right. I was automatically inking all the edges in every layout. That’s when I broke free from edge inking. 😁 I’ve been ink free ever since. Sometimes I think about finding a very subtle ink. Maybe a very light linen or khaki.
What scrappy habit have you broken or what scrappy habit do you want to break?

Oh! I was an inker too, but specifically a brown inker. On everything. Then I noticed one of my friends who inked the edges in a matching colour and it was such a lightbulb moment for me. I like the subtle dimension that an inked edge can give and I feel that it hides the white edge I get when I cut my PP and makes it looks finished, but now that I have been inking in a colour that coordinates well with whatever I have cut I like it so much better. Now the only time I ink in a brown is if I am working with a cream based collection and the die cuts/stickers have a white border (why do they do that?).
I mat my photos. All my photos. Even those going into pocket pages get trimmed down and matted. I want to break free and actually consider if a photo mat is needed. I am recovering as I used to be a triple or quadruple photo matter, but I want to get better at evaluating if a mat is required, or if I am just doing it out of habit.

I used to save every scrap. If I could get a tiny circle out of it, it was saved. I had scrap bins full. One day I just sat down with it and cut every scrap to a 4x5.25, and if it was smaller I threw it in the recycling bin. I don't save tiny scraps anymore, it is too stressful to me to try and use them up. Even with punches. I might punch a few things if I can out of a paper I love, but random scraps are gone.

I bought a few inkpads when they went out of business but when I checked them all recently they were all dried out. I did try an ink refresher spray which worked a couple of times but the color was a bit off.

I've said it before, even recently, but I used to coluzzle every photo into a circle, oval or some other shape. That was a vast improvement over cutting photos willy nilly, sometimes with deco scissors.
I used to use a full sheet of a heavily patterned paper as my background without breaking it up very much. Now I tend to use more strips of a heavy pattern rather than the full on unaltered paper.

I'm thinking about buying some confetti making dies to create shaker bits for shaker cards. that's a good idea! i've been cutting mine down with tab punches. i use tabs quite a bit in junk journals but now i have a million tabs. i feel like i'm hoarding scraps like i got wind of a paper famine. LOL. i just need to stop.

I used to use clear photo corners to adhere every single photo down in my albums. I was sure I would want to be able to remove any photo. I think I’ve done it with 2 or 3 and it’s just not worth it for how infrequently I used them.

I used to mat all of my photos and journaling. I think pocket scrapping cured me of this.

I used to be able to store all my scrapping supplies in one bin under my bed! (Back in the '90s).

I used to hoard supplies and really struggled to use them. I had a eleventyhundred step mental evaluation process to determine if my project deserved to use XYZ.
Now I realize the only wasted supplies are the supplies that don’t get used.

I used to always put my layout titles in the upper left corner of my pages. Now I'm living on the edge and putting them towards the bottom right, above the journaling. My heart is beating a little faster just thinking about it.

I used to cut my photos into shapes.
I think my problem is not giving much thought to the finished product. Typically, I think, a sticker would be fun! The white cardstock is boring. I'll ink the edges! That white space is weird, what can I put in there? I haven't used my sizzlits dies in a while. I'll make one work and if it looks weird, oh well, I'm done!

I used to...peruse entire walls bursting with a rainbow of Bazzill cardstock, aisles filled with multiple racks of patterned papers, pegs full of embellishments & tools, etc. I miss LSSs (including Memories & Archivers locations), the in-person supply shopping experience, & the plethora & diversity of companies, styles, & creativity in the industry during its heyday.

Like PaperAngel, I used to love to wander Archiver's. I could go on my lunch hour, which was dangerous! I would go in for red cardstock and come out with $35 less in my wallet. I used to try to use every little sticker on a sheet. Now after I've used a good portion of a sheet, I cut out the ones I'll use and pitch the rest. So many sheets have teeny tiny stickers that I never use.

For me, it’s more of an ongoing tendency I need to quit.
I keep almost every scrap of paper. I do sort it by color, though, and I do use scraps. The problem is that I have so much paper (thanks to working at the LSS back when I had one, and to the former glory days of TM hauls), that I don’t need to hoard scraps. However, I am also a card maker, and the youngest daughter of parents who lived through the Depression, so throwing away something in good condition that can be used for something else just goes against my upbringing.
Pre-covid, I taught a card class and sometimes got out my scraps and die cuts for the class members and let my group of gals make cards with them. I’m not going back to doing classes anytime soon. In the meantime, the scraps and die cuts seem to multiply like rabbits……

I used to ink edges, too. I like the way it looks, just over time I have gradually forgotten to do it. I don't think every layout needs it but I think it really adds something to some. I'll try to remember to try it again on my next layouts.
I used to hand sew on pages. I love how that looks, too. I'm just lazy. I did buy more needles recently because I want to start doing it again.
I used to use ribbon on my pages. Again, laziness has taken over. I still have a ton of ribbon left, though, so I'll try to remember to do more of that, too.
I never cut my photos into shapes, thank goodness. The craziest I ever get is a circle, and that is rare.

I used to say I would never get into stamping because stamps are not cheap and the more themed ones have limited use. Inks are not cheap either if you want a whole rainbow of colors.
Well....at least 1/4 of my craft room is dedicated to stamping related tools/supplies. Cards are like a mini scrapbook page that I can finish so much faster, and no photos needed!

I loved those little chalk inks so much. They dried so fast and were a great size. What do you use for inking now? Well, I've gone through a couple phases. First, I really like VersaMagic Jumbo Java chalk ink. www.franticstamper.com/Tsukineko-Versamagic-Dew-Drop--Jumbo-Java_p_47226.html It's by Tsukineko, and I haven't been able to find it locally lately, although it used to be in a 4 pack from M's or JA. I do use the Tsukineko Brilliance Jumbo Java pigment ink though. JA still has that. I also have been doing (as Shimelle does) use Distress Dye ink in Walnut Stain with a foam dauber, but now I have kind of switched to using VersaFine Clair in Pinecone with a dauber.

I used to subscribe to monthly kits. I love the thrill of opening a monthly treat.
I haven’t had a monthly subscription since KP switched to Paper Person. Sometimes I get the urge; but it passes quickly. Nothing really tempts me on a regular basis. I considered Hip Kit before they began releasing their own designs.
