Check it out. It may be a welcome change from teaching after these past two years!

If it is not the royal family, it could be an interesting job anyway.
I don't think it is the royal family since one gets the weekends off.

I don't think it is the royal family since one gets the weekends off. In theory...then there's the bits about "occasional travel" and back-up childcare and "schedule flexibility"...and you can kiss having every weekend off goodbye.

I don't think it is them because it doesn't look like Santa Barbara is their primary residence:
Go for it!

Sounds like a great job to me, and it pays better than teaching in Texas!

….”Family employs and has employed other honest and respectful assistants who have managed this balance beautifully - without taking advantage- and they are looking for a similar fit in this hire! Newly hired assistant would have the benefit of being trained by another assistant who has been successful in this position - based at their other home - for over two years.”……
hmmmm - “we’ve had other assistants who didn’t try to rip us off by not doing exactly what we want when we want it (didn’t take advantage of our exceedingly generous generosity), and who bowed and scraped and grovelled whenever they saw us (were respectful) but they left so now we need a new slave assistant.
But I don’t think it’s Harry & Meghan because of the bit about a current assistant based at their other home. H & M only have the Montecito don’t they?

I think it is Kylie Jenner... lmao... they have the main house in Calabasas... the beach house... i thought Malibu but maybe Santa Barbara.. and then Travis Scotts la house....
It says organization of gifts for tons of people... the kards definitely do gifting to the extreme..
You could be in charge of Stormi and the boy formally known as Wolf...
Do it!! Do it!!!!
Im just joking... but if i was choosing a celebrity family... id pick Kylie!!! Especially over Kim n Kourtney

I have done a job like this in the past and that was my experience. As much as they say schedule flexibility, that will only happen if it works for the boss. Weekend and holiday calls are common. I used to joke that working for my boss was like having a second child or a second spouse depending on the day...and sometimes both on the same day. And lord help you if there is an ex in the picture since children are involved.

FYI: I’m not really serious about applying. My SIL is pushing me into “admin,” but I don’t think I’m qualified. I can’t even manage my own household, I doubt I could handle someone else’s. I also don’t fit into the “celebrity” world. And I don’t really want to be the “hired help.” (Though I guess any of us who have a job working for someone else are the hired help). I used to teach with a girl in SF who had been the nanny for the founder of Sharper Image. They were very kind and generous. She got to travel all over the world with them. She worked for them for several years. And she took a pay CUT when she quit to teach. But all that said, and as “nice” as they were—she was still at their beck and call and was always considered below them—even the kids. But I am super curious as to who it is. And a little bitter. Really—3 west coast homes? I’m gonna be lucky to get a studio. I made the wrong life choices!

I think you are smart to skip it, lol. DD did that sort of work for a few years. She got to travel and did a lot of fun and exciting things for someone her age. But it got old pretty fast. They basically do expect you to be their slave. The money was great but in the end the burn out came and she quit.
Crossing fingers for you that you land a teaching job soon. Forget Conejo Valley USD, our school enrollment is at an all time low, according to a report that just came out. Housing market here is too high for new families. Makes me sad. Oxnard seems to keep growing, I'd try for there.

i think that position is seriously underpaid for all of the duties required and the confidentiality and discretion involved. i would expect a position like that to start over $100k for sure.

I think it's humorous that a family who has multiple residences and multiple assistants to do things like "stock the car" and buy gifts for friends and family describes themselves as "down to earth."
They might very well be nice people who are good to their employees, but it's a stretch to describe anyone leading that type of lifestyle as being "down to earth."

"Confidentiality is super important" hints at a young celebrity to me. I can't imagine the Duke or Duchess approving that wording. 😄
Good luck with your job search!

Definitely not H&M - they definitely pay more than that. Actually, the pay posted is VERRRRRRYYYYYYYY LOW for any sort of celebrity in that role.

I don't think it's a celebrity, but an entertainment industry exec. The pay is still too low.

There are nanny jobs in San Francisco that pay twice that, plus benefits. That is really a lowball offer for what they are looking for.

Guaranteed one of the assistants wrote it for them and knows they like to think of themselves as down to earth, so included that.

I don’t know anything about salaries for those jobs but it seems low for the west coast in general.
