I have no idea why but I hate gingham. Plaid--awesome, checkerboard pattern--OK, gingham (especially red gingham)- ew. Maybe I was traumatized at a picnic as a child or something.
Do you have any patterns that you just do not like, for no reason, or is it just me?

I love gingham, if it's small. Large...no, just do plaid instead.
I can't think of any that I hate, but I'm sure I'll run across one soon, lol.

I really dislike paisley, damask and ornate swirls that companies like Basic Grey used in a lot of their patterns. Luckily (for me!) these patterns aren't used in modern scrapbooking very often.

Chevron. Don't ask. I don't know why but it's just a big no-no to me. It was all over scrapbook collections a few years ago, too.

I can sometimes manage a very small chevron or a very covered up chevron but I don't like it and I find it hard to use. That said, there seem to be quite few in stash from paper pads and collections. Gingham on the other hand is one of my favourites

I think all my shirts are gingham. Like small plaids. They also are button-down, which I find annoying but I like the look. The problem is the laundry unbuttons them, but doesn't rebutton them, so I have to, and thy are really small buttons. Yes I send them to the laundry because I don't know how to iron and they do.

I will second the hatred for these patterns: paisley, damask, and chevron. I think it's because all of these were so trendy for a while and now they just seem so dated to me!

I looked up pictures of gingham trying to figure out what I hate about it. If it has those diagonal lines on the little squares, and shades of color, I could maybe use it. If it's just one shade of with a white background, definitely nope. Doodlebug gingham --maybe this one from Echo Park-- no

Do you have any patterns that you just do not like, for no reason, or is it just me? PAISLEY. I have always disliked that pattern, not sure why. I remember in college, going over to a newly married friend's house, and she had paisley shower curtains, and I told my boyfriend I would never be "grown up" because I wouldn't be able to stand to have anything paisley patterned ever. I have somehow ended up with a paisley embossing folder and it's ok. Possibly because there's only one of the paisley pieces completely visible. So random.

Whenever I end up with a chevron pattern I know my only option is to cut it into strips to it's only a diagonal stripe - no chevron! I'm also not big on geometrics, watercolor, or marble patterns. I have to say it - Patterns that resemble female genitalia backing out of the room ..... I read this and sat here and blinked for a minute. Dare I ask? Could you...um...give us an example?

Any pattern that includes people is a big NO for me.

Add me to the list of those who dislike gingham. I've seen plenty of kits that have gingham in every colour, and I always think it's 'cheating' to bulk up a kit with multiple sheets of gingham. I also don't really love plaid, but I have been trying to use it a bit more lately. I even bought a Photoshop style a while ago, to make my own plaid paper. I agree kmage , vintage Santa heads on paper are not for me either.

I cannot stand papers with rows and rows of little triangles.

I like gingham for matting or a small piece only - the variation in monochrome makes a great mat for a photo. I like plaids. Rationale dislike: multi word or icon papers - I don't typically leave enough of a pp showing for the words/icons to make sense. Irrationale dislike: paisley and pretty much anything by graphic 45

I'm another one that dislikes paisley prints. I hate them in all of life though, not just scrapbooking papers.
I also really dislike plaids. Buffalo checks and ginghams are not really my favourite but if I had to get rid of one pattern, plaids would be the one to go.
I don't really love chevrons but I think that's also because they were *everywhere* for such a long while, and you have to have a decent chunk of it visible for the pattern to make sense, they were terrible for matting 12x12 layouts because you'd end up with those weird little peaks on two sides of the page. That said, I actually used a piece of chevron paper last week.

I love patterns. Gingham- yes! Paisley- yes! Plaid - for sure. Word patterns, yep, stripes, uh huh. And anything with circles or dots is my jam. I mean there are iterations of these patterns that are fugly to me, but in general I like those patterns. I’ve always hated chevrons, though. They seem harsh and boring or something. Lol.

It’s not really a pattern, but I really dislike photo realistic paper. Just a no from me.

When I see paisley, I see a bunch of sperm. I used to hate red gingham because my dad would wear what we called the tablecloth shirt in public to embarrass us, now it's kind of sentimental. 😄

I do not like paisley, damask, seasonal type patterns (rows of tiny >> hearts, shamrocks, beach chairs, smiley faces, etc....).

I’m not keen when a colorful print or pattern has a white background. I generally think any print in a colored background looks 100% nicer and is easier to work with.

I think the proper name for the design is Damask - it reminds me of Fallopian tubes and labias

I love plaid clothes (kind of a requirement in the PNW) but I hate it in scrapbooking. Gingham I don’t mind in quilts or if it is small on a shirt, but another no for sb paper.
I really hate paper with people. Also any beachy paper with umbrellas, palm trees, etc.

No diamonds or triangles. I have a great dislike for any of the geometric patterns. Diamonds and triangles are the ones that I dislike the most but cubes and hexagons are up there. Anything that has a kind of 3D geometric pattern is a big no no. Also not a fan of photo realistic paper. Not sure if I have actually ever used any. Word paper is a bit of a struggle too. I have managed to use some over the years but mostly I just struggle with them so I avoid them where I can.

Paisley is a big no for me, in any form - paper, fabric, whatever. I blame the 80s.
I looooooove gingham! Every spring I start searching for gingham clothing and I have a nice selection of gingham 6x6 pads for card making. Love a pretty, larger scale gingham in 12 x 12.
