Remember our Donna - sad update on her dh

I’ve been thinking of our Donna (there is still a monthly Donna Challenge on the SB board, here is the one from this month

I read through some of our PMs and took some time to remember my friend. I was hoping her family was doing well and I looked them up on fb. Sadly, her DH Adam passed on Dec 31 of pancreatic cancer, the same cancer that took Donna.
It doesn’t look like her son Austin is on FB. Mason wrote:
“Yesterday Dad lost his fight with cancer. Dad decided he couldn’t miss another New Years kiss without the love of his life. He taught and provided me with more than I could ask for or even really deserved sometimes. He showed me how to love and care for one woman. He taught me about work ethic and to strive to be proud of what you had the ability to accomplish. Dad also left me with the most extensive pop culture and sci-fi knowledge and references known to man lol. One of my most cherished gifts he gave me was the value and weight of words. From one of our favorite book series…

Journey before Destination
I love you Dad. You had one hell of a Journey to be proud of. Austin and I won’t let you down in the years to come.”

“Mason Slagle I’m one of your mom’s friends from the scrapbooking website. We remember her fondly and the girls continue to do a scrapbook challenge in her honor every month.
She’s been on my mind and I was reading some of our conversations, remembering my friend.
I thought I’d see how her family was doing and saw the news about your dad. I am so sorry. Praying for you all that God will continue to comfort. Both your mom and dad were so proud of you and Austin.“
For some sweet news, Mason is married and the daddy of two adorable little ones, one of whom is the happiest looking baby.
