Some background: last month I purchased a pack of Calvin Klein socks at Costco. A couple of weeks ago, while wearing a pair of them, I thought I had stepped on a sharp object on the floor. Checked my sock, the floor, the bottom of my foot, did not see anything. But for days afterward if I stepped a certain way on that foot I got the same sharp pinch feeling. Was beginning to think I had diabetic neuropathy, even though I am not a diabetic.
This morning: I grabbed a pair of the cK socks out of the drier and as I went to put them on I felt something sharp. Investigated. And found... A THREADED SEWING NEEDLE interwoven into the bottom of one sock! The thread colour is not one I use (kind of a taupe).
Anything weird happen to you lately?

Oh, my word! That could have gone bad in a serious way very easily. I'm glad you didn't wind up with an infected puncture wound.

speaking of costco, i stopped by on my way to work to put air in my tire. their tire dept is usually open by now but this morning everything was still shut. people were lined up for the dept and yet you didn't see any employees coming in to work through the tire dept doors. odd. me and some other guy waited for the air stations to open but i finally gave up and went to work. wonder what was going on there.

I just ate a tuna sandwich for lunch, and squeezed out the tuna water from the can into a bowl for the cat. I'm shocked he hasn't shown up to drink it. Usually, he's meowing at my feet as soon as the can opener cracks open the can. He's gotten so lazy in his old age.

I swear Bess can be in the deadest of sleep, and she hears that can crack and appears out of nowhere and nearly climbs the cabinet doors trying to get to some of it. She always gets a little bite for herself.

Did you check all of the socks from the pack?

What a weird thing to have happened grammadee. Did you check all of the socks from the pack? Haven't checked them yet. But I won't be putting any of them ON until each has a thorough once over.

Thankfully no weird things have happened to me today! The needle in the sock is definitely weird. Glad it didn't do any damage to your foot!

That needle in your sock could have really hurt you. I would be inclined to contact Calvin Klein to let them know what you had happen - not to sue them or expect anything out of it, but to warn them what happened so that they can tighten up their procedures so that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

My Stitch Fix box came completely empty.
The box itself was damaged and the post office resealed it - damaged - and delivered a completely empty box.
I mean, really?!?!?

peabay, you know they see stitch fix boxes all of the time. I'm hard pressed to believe they didn't know they were taping an empty box. Grrr.

That is really weird, grammadee. You know someone, somewhere is really puzzled by what happened to the needle they threaded . . . I was out for most of the day and wonder if our ducks showed up. We've never seen them before last week and thought it was just a one off swim and sun on the pool deck, but they came back on Sunday while we were working in the yard.

Well I will admit that based only on the title of your post, I was sure mymindseyedpea had started the thread. :-) Nothing unusual happened to me today, but it seems like it did for several peas. That needle in the sock is making me cringe just thinking about it.

On vacation and we were out driving the back country, rural roads. Not once but twice, turkey vultures flew so close to our front windshield that I thought we would hit them. I mean, I could see the individual feathers on their disgusting butts! 😳 Eeek! I told the driver he needed to slow down to accommodate my bird phobia. 😉 I'll be happy if today was the first and only time for that experience!

Not weird per se but stupid on my part. I booked tickets online through Fandango to go to the movies this afternoon. We get to Regal (a few miles from our house) only to notice I booked at the town west of us by mistake. Ugh! Luckily I realized I could cancel the booking and buy tickets at Regal. The movie was starting in 20 minutes so it turned out okay. It only cost me the $3.50ish service fee. And today is $5 Tuesday so the tickets were only $10 for the two of us. Thank goodness because we saw Lost City and it wasn't very good.

We are on vacation. Went to the Grand Canyon today and did the skywalk. The person selling us the tickets asked if either of us qualified for the senior discount. We were about to say no, until she said it was for people over 55 (we are 56). Our first senior discount experience.

So to keep with the theme of 4/26 when this thread was created (with the needle, ouch!) We had a hawk encounter that day!
I was on Zoom with a friend and my mom and we started talking about Jerry Garcia. In the 13 Moon Calendar, Jerry was born on Blue Galactic Eagle Day 255. During the conversation about him a saw something with wings in the corner of my eye outside. We have domestic birds in cages outside but these wings looked big. When I looked over I didn’t notice anything. And about a minute later I saw the wings again and looked over and saw a hawk perched on my balcony railing.
I tried to show him in the zoom. Then I got out of the zoom for a second to take a picture before he flew away.
He may have been attracted to the domestic birds but they get taken outside almost daily and I have never had a hawk encounter like that. Smaller wild birds yes. They are attracted to the seeds. But we were like it’s Jerry lol
Fast forward today at work, someone got an even total of $255.00. It was from a customer with a 8/18 birthday, and she got asked for her birthday (for the wine she was buying) when her total was at $144. So I asked her if she wanted to hear something interesting. She said yes, so I told her 8x18 ☺️
