MichyM I'm so happy you've taken up cardmaking - I think your questions and enthusiasm for learning have really helped bring this stamp/card back to life lately!

Sounds like LF might be Halloween themed? "wicked fun" I'm obsessed with the TE layered stencils but they're so expensive. Def sounds fall themed. No thanks to scene/get well cards, and def no thanks to flocking! Overall the classes sound pretty fun though and you were pretty much spot on with your predictions pinklady

MichyM I'm so happy you've taken up cardmaking - I think your questions and enthusiasm for learning have really helped bring this stamp/card back to life lately! Well, that's really sweet of you to say. BUT, let's turn this around though and give credit where it is due: if it wasn't for you and the rest of the girls here (I've also received LOTS of behind the scenes help from pea cardmakers), I'd be lost. You are all awesome and so generous with your time. Thank you!Surprise, surprise, I have more questions. I'm using layered stamps and dye inks for the first time this weekend. However, I'm going to try and work through them today after re-reading everyone's replies again on my older stamping thread. I'm trying my best to avoid turning the board into "Michy's personal Q&A board"

Thank you for posting the class descriptions pinklady! They all sound good to me, and a couple of whimsical/cute looks are ok with me. Totally into making a few get well cards, as I have nothing in my stash for it, as I rarely send them. Ihaven't tried masking yet, but now I have a reason to do so. And I love the idea of flocking. I've had my eyes on a pussywillows die set, and flocking would be awesome for something like that dontcha think?

I've had my eyes on a pussywillows die set If it's the one from The Greetery, me too! I'm holding off on purchasing anything from them because it's their 3rd anniversary so I'm sort of expecting a sale in the near future. Betsy posted on Instagram that there was manufacturing delays and personal stuff that has delayed it but it's coming.

At this point I probably wouldn't really use them until late next winter/early spring so I'm not in a rush. I'll go follow them on IG, but I hope you'll enable us (if they do have a sale) after you've made your purchase(s). Do you have any of their curio sets? I am so tempted, but man, they look fussy!

Of course she does lots of cute projects because of Lawn Fawn, but has a whole other side - or sides! - with Pink Fresh, Tim Holtz/Distress sprays, etc. Happy Kristina is watercoloring instead of coloring coloring. I don’t do scenes either but if it’s a fun card to make it can go in the donate pile. Flocking? My gut says no but maybe I’d be surprised. Many of the sentiments in cards for the last two events could be swapped. I think “yippee” was in a couple of March cards and I’d never yippee on a card.

Jenn Shurkus says “wicked fun” year round. She lives in Cape Cod and it’s a NE thing. I did wonder if that was the NE thing or if it was (also) a clue to the theme. Flocking? My gut says no but maybe I’d be surprised. VictoriaMarie tried out some flocking in her last live and as soon as I saw the thumbnail I decided not to bother. It might be cool for some things but I just have no interest.

If the box includes flocking, maybe I’d try it, but it would likely go the way of those little tubes of paint that puff up when heated. They were used to make flowers in a class taken years ago and once on scrap CS, but that was it. I have (had?) a stamp that’s a simple open line drawing of a rabbit butt, so maybe the tail.

I took this last fall for the first time and really liked it! I was impressed with all the fun stuff in the box and had a good time doing all the classes. I figured out I could stop the videos while live and didn’t worry about catching up with everyone. I skip the lives after the class because I get tired of everyone saying “I loved it!!!!” And “this is sooooo fun!!!!” LOL I get that for some people the event is all about hanging out with the professionals but I’m just interested in techniques and products.
I had FOMO when I didn’t sign for the spring card class - I wanted to try the scrapbook one so I signed up, and we’re in the middle of that one right now!
One thing I did learn from the fall stamping event was to roughen up the brand new stamps before using them for the first time. Just rub them with your fingers or I would rub them on my jeans. It removes any manufacturing residue that might make the first images grainy. Also, Costco baby wipes are great for cleaning stamps, they leave no fiber residue.
I will sign up for the fall stamp event, and am glad to see so many Peas will be there!

I will sign up for the fall stamp event, and am glad to see so many Peas will be there! Agree about the Costco (Kirkland) baby wipes, which can also be purchased on Amazon. I still occasionally use them but more often now use a microfiber cloth and water or if needing something stronger, Hero Arts Ultra Clean or Stewart Superior Refill (same thing), to cut down on waste. The microfiber cloths get very stained (pretty!) but the ink doesn’t come off onto hands or anything else even moments after using them. They’re tossed into the washing machine. BTW, if using baby wipes, when dry they can be used. I’m blanking on her name but someone who does videos for Gelli Arts made a cool book from used ones. She sewed them. In case anyone newish to card making is interested, I’ve used these micro fiber cloths for eons - even before seeing Jennifer McGuire use them. Note the prices - bigger packs can cost less than smaller ones. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ANZHG7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I'm still trying to decide whether or not to register for the cardmaking class. I probably will because I hate missing out, and the Spellbinder's holiday cards class really appeals to me. There have been some styles and finished cards in past events that I wouldn't have necessarily made myself but I do know people that would like them so its actually nice to have a bit of a different style to give away. I don't have any of the curio sets but man I want those vintage ornaments. I have looked at those sets so many times, wanting to buy them - but then I think about how much work each card would be. But I just love them. I wish The Greetery would do a class at C&C some day. I'd sign up for sure. That pussywillow die is gorgeous! I'm disappointed that The Stamp Market is not participating anymore but I think they've met their goals and are now transitioning to their own classes and kits. Same with PinkFresh. I love Honey Bee's products - I would be very happy if their mini class involved one of their Lovely Layers floral die sets. I love those. Pink and Main's cards were among my favourites from last month's C&C, I hope they do something pretty like that and not something cutesy. What to do, what to do...

I’m going to hold off since I haven’t been able to make any cards yet from March, and still have some a bunch from October. If I finish what I’m drawn to I’ll register. Otherwise I’m collecting, not card making.
And just a reminder that Catherine said she likes feedback. (It would be great if they sent out surveys afterwards.) I made some notes about the March event so will go back and clean them up. I don’t want to put her email address on the forum but if anyone doesn’t have it and wants it, just message me.

I’m in again. This will be my fourth class. I still find I learn some new techniques and they are always fun. Even if the style if a couple isn’t my thing…I think the instructors do great jobs and are very personable.
The FB group did get a bit over the top with all the posts about shipping and packages, etc.

I signed up. I had a blast at last fall's card making event. I signed up for this past spring one and would have had just as much fun but we were in the process of buying a house. I have yet to complete any of the classes. I plan to do one or two a weekend once I get unpacked from moving!
