Sign ups are next week. The card-making event is Sept 30 - Oct 2. Since I just started card making a couple of months ago, this will be my first. Hopefully by end of September I'll know more techniques, etc and will be able to keep up-ish.
Just curious if any peas are going to participate as well?

I'll be signing up. It will be my 4th.
Personally I think even if you don't know many techniques some of the classes are easy enough to follow ie GinaK and Cathy Z. Just don't panic and go into it knowing that you can always watch the replay and you'll be fine. I still haven't started Friday's classes from the last one.

I will! I still have 4 events that I haven't done yet, but I always have FOMO.

Very likely that I'll sign up too, but waiting for the line up to make the final disison. It will be my 3rd one.
Prep work makes a huge difference and organizing everything by classes/cards. And yes, remember that you can always watch it again and finish your cards.

I’m 90% sure I’ll be signing up too. Here’s my advice:
1) Open the box as soon as you get it. Mainly to find the book but also because the contents are amazing.
2) Do as much prep work as you can before classes start.
3) Do not stress about finishing. Everything is recorded so you can watch it over and over.
4) You don’t have to be elaborate with your class organization. Others were way over the top with there separate bags/bins. You’ll see when the Facebook group launches and people post pics.

I’ll attend again if I make the cards I like from the March event. It would be my third. A good number of people don’t attempt to keep up - some make a few cards, some like watching the lives and wait to make everything afterwards.
The forum stays busy for ages - last October’s forum is still active. Some people post about how anxious they are about keeping up and get awfully stressed. SCT keeps reassuring people it’s not expected that participants keep up since they cram so much in.

It’s as if hundreds of people suddenly had never chosen an ink color in their life. The guide’s color photos are excellent. So looking at them makes picking similar colors of inks easy. Or change the colors entirely.

I am skipping the fall one. I've done 2 in a row and have learned a ton. The products are amazing. April has been a very expensive month and have to seriously reign it in. I know I will have fomo closer to it. Maybe I will waitlist it closer.

I always think about doing one of these events. As usual, I looked at what they were teaching and then looked at the price. It’s $248. That covers cost of the classes, supplies, and shipping.
I used to teach classes at the LSS (back when I lived near one), so I know a lot of work has gone into planning and preparing everything. I get that. I also know that part of the cost is for the supplies, at least some of which are exclusive to the event, but I was a stamper/card maker before I was a scrapbooker. I’m familiar with all the techniques. I didn’t see anything that I would consider truly new. I‘m pretty sure that I already have the supplies, along with similar stamps and dies, in my craft room hoard stash.
I’m sure it’s fun just to participate, and that those of you who sign up will enjoy it. I hope you all have a grand time and feel that your money was well spent. Unfortunately, for me, I don’t think it would be.

The details are now up on the scrapbookandcards.com website. Based on the manufacturers/teachers, I will be signing up again.
Even though I'm a long, long, long time stamper, I learned something new in each class. And even with a more than ample stash of stamps, dies and stencils, who doesn't like getting the latest and greatest?!!!
This will be my second time. I'm sure I won't make all the cards during that weekend. And I'm sure I'll modify most of the designs (specifically sentiments to suit the donation cards I need). Looking forward to it!

Yeah, I'm going to sign up. I'm am not surprised that The Stamp Market is out. Amy had a rough time last time. The only class that probably won't be my style is Lawn Fawn.
Fall 2022 Instructors:
-Gina K. Designs: Gina Krupsky -Lawn Fawn: Jenn Shurkus -Concord & 9th: Cathy Zielske -Hero Arts: Laura Bassen -Spellbinders: Kim Kesti -Taylored Expressions: Taylor Van Bruggen -Mama Elephant: Kristina Werner -Pink & Main: Michelle Currie

Yeah, I popped over there this morning and saw that the info is up. I don't know enough about these manufacturers/designers to know their style. I do worry that the event will be too "cutesy" for my taste, but I'll never know if I don't try it, so I'm in. If nothing else, I'll have a fun weekend learning new techniques (hopefully).

I'm waffling. I have taken part in many SCT events, and they are expensive but worth it to me. I just have too much stuff. I didn't sign up for any of the spring events and I did have FOMO. Decisions, decisions!

Initially I wondered about that too. I don’t make cutesy cards or cards with people, and I don’t enjoy traditional coloring. Yet there have been plenty of supplies that worked great or could be used differently than in the class cards. I couldn’t make cards from the March event but in October there were a few cards that weren’t the type I’d send, but the techniques used were worth making them and like we’ve talked about, cards that we don’t send can be donated. For the first time I saw Vicki Boutin teach and that was fun, though the card wasn’t mixed media. I wish she was going to return, but she has the live Friday night sessions plus videos. So much is included in The Box that if half the supplies and classes work then I’m in good shape. October was way over that, almost everything. March was a little lower but still quite good. Too bad about The Stamp Market and Amy. Her products are so nice and techniques interesting. pinklady do you mean the tons of comments during her class about the code not working? It was a like a group of kindergartners whining for their prizes.

From the website: “Supplies for Friday’s mini-classes with Brutus Monroe, Ranger Ink, Elle’s Studio, Close To My Heart, Therm O Web, Honey Bee Stamps, Your Next Stamp, Scrapbook.com and Crafter’s Companion.”
The mini-classes weren’t so mini! Most were like regular classes, at least to me. So with the eight regular classes and half a dozen on Friday, it’s a ton of product and classes. I loved a few teachers I’d never seen in action before, both in October and March.

It was a like a group of kindergartners whining for their prizes. Amy got pummeled with negative comments because people didn’t understand how to mask the stamp and stamp each letter in individual colors. Plus some people weren’t conditioning their stamp good enough and getting a bad inked impression. Honestly, I didn’t find either of those out of my wheelhouse so I thought the negative comments were totally unnecessary.

I will sign up. But disappointed about no stamp market and pinkfresh. I get adding new companies and I’m super excited about mama elephant. But I’m definitely not a fan of pink and main stuff and I think spellbinders is more of a mini class. I’m sure it will still be awesome but I wished they had not gotten rid of those two companies.
They also got rid of honeybee as a main company Abby that makes me sad too. I really liked the May event line up and I’m slightly less excited about this one.

Were the comments during the class too? I remember comments on FB but don’t remember people being really mean. But maybe frustrated, and a good number. Plus Amy teaching in the midst of moving was pretty mind boggling and had to be stressful. I think I remember something similar happening with a large Gina K. stamp with trees in October - with people saying one part wouldn’t stamp. But she handled it, maybe is more comfortable with it given how long she’s been in business.

There is a chance that some companies chose not to participate this time. Maybe Amy from The Stamp Market has too much on her plate with the move and passed so a new company got a chance. I can't imagine they would ditch her over a few negative people. Honeybee may have chosen to do a mini class instead as well. We just don't know. The line up looks great! I am in with bells on!

MichyM Here's my take on classes but I have no inside info, this is just me thinking out loud. As a new stamper, you will probably get a well rounded intro to stamps. Main Classes: -Gina K. Designs: Gina Krupsky - This will be typical Gina K with ink blending and masking with white cardstock layered on black card stock. Personally, I hope it's another layered stencil set.-Lawn Fawn: Jenn Shurkus - This will be cutesy critters that need to be colored in with pens. Not my style at all.-Concord & 9th: Cathy Zielske - This will be clean classic cards with a bit of ink blending. I don't anticipate cutesy at all.-Hero Arts: Laura Bassen - Laura's style is not cutesy. If they listened to feedback from the March class we'll get coordinating dies. -Spellbinders: Kim Kesti - I'm guessing these will be either stitching dies or layering dies to make cards.-Taylored Expressions: Taylor Van Bruggen - I don't know much about TE but I loved their quad stencil concept from the March class.-Mama Elephant: Kristina Werner - Kristina is a copic colorer so I'm guessing this will be cutesy critters or florals that need to be colored.-Pink & Main: Michelle Currie - Possible cutesy but I don't know enough about Pink & Main
Mini Classes: Brutus Monroe - Not my style at all - too "artsy" for meRanger Ink - not sureElle’s Studio - Classic cardmaking with a focal sentiment - Love their last 2 classes - not cutesyClose To My Heart - not sure either just an embellishment for us to add to our cards or a small simple stamp setTherm O Web - some sort of foiling technique - probably not cutesyHoney Bee Stamps - cutesy probably with bee stampsYour Next Stamp - not sureScrapbook.com - probably just a product demo not actual cards to makeCrafter’s Companion - since they are part of the Gemini family, probably a die focused type cardAnyone else, feel free to add your thoughts on the classes.

Plus The Stamp Market seems to be branching out into their own class type offerings.

Right, I wondered if Amy decided not to participate, partly because of the bombardment of coupon comments plus people struggling with the big stamp. IOW not that she’d be ditched. But who knows what goes into the decisions. Vicki Boutin taught a class in October and didn’t in March. The players change.

Spot on. Just a few thoughts. Brutus Monroe - Michael just warms my heart. He had technical problems in October so re-made his entire video for the group. I wondered where he was going with his card in March initially but it turned out really nice, and some participants’ takes on it were terrific. Crafter’s Companion - Mari Clarke taught for them last time - first time seeing her, loved her. Pink and Main - I missed most of the class last time but there was stenciling and a bee theme.

Taylored Expressions will be using Triple Slim layering stencils - 3 cards out of a single piece of paper and the description hints at falling leaves. Honey Bee - March's cards used balloons and stars (no bees) and all 3 were shaker cards. Since the theme of this event seems to be fall and winter, I would not expect bees. I didn't participate in the last fall event but I have seen the Close to My Heart stamp set from it. It was a very nice winter themed one. I'm disappointed Pink Fresh will not be there.

I like the line up, so 98% sure that I'll sign up. It will be a birthday present to myself 😊. Sorry to see that The Stamp Market won't be present, but I understand their decision. After the tantrums of some ppl at the last event ,who needs more of that. And at the same time they got their name out there and probably got a big follower/shopper group now. And they have their own card kit+ class now. thestampmarket.com/collections/new/products/just-lovely-kitI join these events for the fun and to see if I learn anything or just find a new company or instructor. I'm ok if I don't learn anything new too, but I usually get 1 or 2 new ideas. I don't do cutesy, but I enjoy making some cutesy cards, I can always send it to ppl who loves cutesy. While the price $250 is high all at once ,when you break it down by class and products is a really good deal and it's a 3 day crafting marathon. I looked it other just classes, no product, options and I realized that I don't enjoy them as much, I watch plenty of YT videos for free. Aldo, I have to say I got JM and KW card class last year for $18 and learned a lot. I'm part of the FB group but I just look it the pictures and I rarely read comments so all the whinging it doesn't bother me. I don't read any of the comments during classes ,either. I wish the instructors would pay less attention to them too. The unwanted supplies I share with my crafty friends and I'm thinking to do some giveaways on my Instagram if I figure out how to do the drawing of the winners. If someone knows that I would appreciate some help. I do organize my supplies because I use what I have.( I do have a big stash pile) I take time to match my stamp pads to coordinate to the samples or to coordinate with each other. And I do the classes in my loft, front of the TV and this way I don't have to run back and forth between my craft room and loft. You just have to do what works for you.

I’ll be looking forward to this as if it was a mini-vacation that I’m planning.

I would suggest that you check out the YT channels if you want a sense of the teachers and their styles. I feel like every one of the main teachers has a channel and a pretty clear style. pinklady's descriptions sounded pretty spot on to me though. Some of those people are not my favorites, more for personal reasons than crafty reasons, but I think they all know what they're doing in terms of crafting and video teaching.

Unfortunately, for me, I don’t think it would be. I'm with you on most of this. I would personally prefer to choose my own supplies because I have limited budget and more crucially, storage space. I'm pretty picky about my stamps and dies and I'm trying to stick within my style and not get hung up on what other people enjoy making. I spend a lot of time crafting already so I don't really need the "retreat" aspect of it. I think these classes are terrific for new card makers and people who need/want to attend a "crop" weekend to get motivated or who enjoy working together with other folks. I'm more of a loner. I do have a bit of FOMO every time people share about these classes though! And I think these experiences can be money very well spent, especially if you count all the enjoyment of looking forward to them and the ongoing fun of using the supplies and techniques after the class
