that does the INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the car? ? I can't seem to find one anymore. We have tons of new carwash places, but they ALL only do the outside of the car. After that, there's a free vacuum for YOU to use, and I have no idea what you do for the inside windows. This girl (at barely 5') cannot properly reach or clean the windshield or windows. They wind up more smudgy than before. I struggle with trying to vacuum my little sedan at these carwash places.
I long for an old fashioned carwash that sends your car on an automatic wash while you watch it from another room. Then 5 people descend on your vehicle and thoroughly clean ALL windows, etc. Is there any such thing anymore???
Wondering what disabled people or elderly people do now!?! So far I've traveled 15 miles and I haven't found a real carwash yet. Grrrrrrrr! TIA.

Yeah. I live in LA, home of car culture. I have access to an awesome carwash, but I now have a service that comes to my home and washes/waxes my car. It's only a little more expensive than taking my car to the physical carwash.
MIL and I coordinate with our neighbors and we all have the service come at the same time- win for the service and win for us.
They do inside and outside.

We have a ton of various car washes, but I’m in Los Angeles county. So, a slew of drive throughs, full wash, detail places and the kind with a carport and wash hose you do yourself.
But, I noticed a lot of my neighbors are using a mobile service. They say it’s just a bit higher than the service you describe. For example, my full service was is $19. With tax and tip I’m almost at $27. Supposedly, the mobile service is only $30 to $35.

We have two full service Carwashes in our town, one owner. I'm jealous! "Full service" on the gulf coast of FL means, "There's the vacuum--YOU do it!!" Grrrrrrrrrr!
People here think it's normal to pay to get their cars detailed every month because there are no normal full service carwashes here. Thanks for your info!

As far as I know, ours are just drive-through with DIY vacuum.

We have one in the next big town over that we go to. The one in my town is only a drive through and then you can vacuum yourself.

Another Californian here, and yes, we still have full-serve car washes here. I take my car to one because for only a couple of dollars more, they’ll clean the inside and the trunk.

People here opt to get a detailer to do the inside/outside of their car and it's over $200-$300!!!!!!!! All I want is an old-fashioned REAL carwash place!!! Darn. My favorite place was closing (2 years ago) and they said that they can't compete against these quickie outside-only carwash places (they have huge vacuums for their clients to use---does me no good!!!!!!).

We have two full service car washes with a third one opening. They even do oil changes! I think it's $50-80 for the full package.
There's a few detailers at car lots and a few independent ones. Maybe look for a detailer? The ones I see that are not through car dealers usually offer window tinting and remote starts as well.

The full service car wash here will do the minimum exterior and interior for $20. It goes up to $40 for all the bells and whistles.
And it may be sexist, but they have a ‘ladies day’ when it’s even cheaper.
Living in podunk SC pays off sometimes.

We don’t have any full service car washes where I live. The girl that details mine does wash, wax, vacuum, windows and armor all for $60. She’s not mobile tho, drop it off at her house and pick up a few hours later.

I *think* we have some drive-thru ones near us, but if we want a do it yourself one, we have to drive a county south of us. Looks like it's $30 for the drive-thru one near us, but you can get a membership for $40/month, which, from their website "enables you to wash your car or truck once a day, every day we’re open, for a low monthly fee."

Not in my town but in the town next to me - about 15 miles. We have found individuals that detail vehicles at their home. I had my father's truck done once as part of his Christmas gift. The funniest thing, when I took Daddy back to pick up the truck, I was following him back home. I could see something that looked like antlers sticking out from under the truck. He wouldn't believe me but finally had someone look under there. He had at some point run over some small tree branches in his yard and they had stuck in the undercarriage. The detailing guy did a great job on the truck but he completely missed those limbs.

Yes. Off of the top of my head, there are 5 on site full service car washes and 3 companies (that I know of) that come to your home/business and do full detailing.

There's one in my town (outside Orlando, Fl) that has several options...you can drive through then DIY vacuum and clean inside or for more money you can get out of your car and the staff will clean inside, vacuum, wash windows, etc...Classic Car Wash is their name....we love it!

Nope. Just the drive thru and diy vacuum near me. Are you talking about the kind of place that Walter and Skyler owned in Breaking Bad? I've never seen one IRL.
And wait, you're supposed to tip at the car wash?

And wait, you're supposed to tip at the car wash? I do at the full service one here. After your car comes off the line, one person will pull it to an area where they go over the inside and outside really well. From where I sit waiting, I see all the effort that goes into it. I’m happy to hand over $5 in appreciation for how great my car looks and smells when they are done.

I’ve never heard of mobile car wash services. I learn so much here.
We have only drive through. The vacuums are great, though, huge hoses on either side of each parking spot, as well as air for tires and rags for drying.

I believe my mother lives close to where you are (Palm Harbor) and she's been complaining about the car wash situation for months. For a while all the car washes were closed but one or two recently opened up, I'm not sure if they are full service though. Let me know if you want me to ask her.

I am only aware of one singular car wash that is totally self serve. You drive into the bay area and it is coin operated with a metal hose, scrubber brushes, and wand. There is also a vacuum available for you to use on the interior. I took my car there one time when it was covered in gunk from a few day's stay in Yosemite Valley. There was pine pitch on the roof and hood area and the powerful wand of hot water took the majority of it off. I figured if I took it to the regular full-service car wash, the pine pitch would gunk up their big brushes and possibly deposit on cars that came after me.
All of the rest of them are the type that employs people to vacuum the interior first, then they drive it over to an automated washing and waxing line. When your vehicle is clean and most of the water is blown off, it is driven to an open area where people do the drying and detailing work. You can also opt for a hand application of wax instead of having it blown on within the car wash itself.

And wait, you're supposed to tip at the car wash? I found out that they don’t pay the guys who dry the car at these types of washes. They work solely on tips. Here in Los Angeles, they’re pretty much all undocumented, so they are exploited (what are they going to do? Report it? No.) About the time I heard this rumor, there was an article in the LA Times that confirmed it. So I make sure I tip well. But I think plenty don’t.
