If you want to share, post links, so we won't have the board out of room again.
Here is a painted bunting that came to our yard this week.
We have Indigo buntings visiting as well.
A brown thrasher

My in-laws moved into a townhouse a couple of years ago, and they only have a tiny backyard. My MIL has filled it with plants and a bird feeder, and they get a lot of birds in their yard. These are some of the photos I've taken. They're not very good, because I have had to zoom in with my phone from the back door. 1. Rainbow Lorikeets and pigeon 2. Rainbow Lorikeets and a Galah 3. Crimson Rosellas They also get King Parrots at certain times of the year. And the occasional cockatoo and corella, which they chase away. ETA: These are not unique birds, they're actually very common.

I've been trying to get photos of the little Ruby-crowned kinglet and Golden-crowned kinglets that come back in early spring. They are so difficult to photograph because they stay inside brush and always seem to have a twig in front of them. Here are two that I took a couple of days ago. I also had 2 pair of hooded mergansers come to a small pond 2 minutes from my house. They stayed for a week so I had time to catch some photos. www.flickr.com/photos/karen-ns/52041269319/in/datetaken-public/Those kinglet photos are outstanding!

And in a weird co-incidence, no more than half an hour after posting my photos, I saw a Rainbow Lorikeet in the grevillea outside my bedroom window. Normally I only see Honeyeaters (photo on the right) in the grevilleas.

If you want to share, post links, so we won't have the board out of room again. librarylady, you can post the photo from Flickr instead of just pasting the link, and it doesn't take up space on the board like an attachment does. My photos are all from Flickr.

All of those are so pretty! I've only ever seen a painted bunting once in my lifetime (in the Outer Banks, near Cape Hatteras), and it was gorgeous. I've never seen any of the others outside of an aviary.
We've only gotten cardinals here so far (along with all of the other usual suspects - robins, bluejays, sparrows, doves, and the like), but I saw house finches and purple finches while I was visiting my DDs in the PNW and my dad in Ohio.
All of your bird pictures are lovely!!

Click the "share" icon (arrows pointing outward at an angle) on the Flickr photo you want to share and a dialog box will come up asking what size you want to share, then it will give you a link to post. Cut and paste the link into the thread and it will post the image.

Open the photo in Flickr On the bottom right of the page there are four icons. Click the second one that looks like an arrow, called "Share Photo" A box will pop up with four options: Share, Embed, Email, BBCode. Choose BBCode. Highlight all of the text in the box. It's a very long string and will look something like this: url=https://flic.kr/p/2nhJWrZ then a whole lot of other text. When you have highlighted it, copy using CTRL C or however you usually copy Then in your post here, simply paste CTRL V

There's a mating pair of pileated woodpeckers in our area. We saw the female in our yard going around to all of the dead/semi dead trees in our yard, and then saw the male on a bird feeder on our walk. That one was much closer to us and I really got an understanding of how big they are (19"). I usually only see downy woodpeckers in our yard. DH says he hears a northern flicker sometimes.
We're going to plant some trees in the near future to make up for all of the dead ones we're going to clear out.

Bald Eagle. She hung around for a week or so and I haven’t seen her since. So amazing.

AussieMeg Those birds' colors are amazing. You'd only see something like that in a pet store where I live.

I don’t have a photo, but I visited the great blue heron rookery near my house this morning. I saw 8 mamas feeding chicks. Glad I brought the binoculars.
We’ve had nesting red tailed hawks in the yard. It was a hoot watching them teach the chicks to fly and hunt.
