I've been working on switching paper collections over to record sleeves, which is working great. The plastic packaging with the adhesive strip makes me a little twitchy, so at the same time, I've been putting coordinating embellishments like die cuts or enamel dots in stamp pockets. I would love to find something similar for the 6 x 12 chipboard. The 6 x 12 ziplock bags for thickers are a little too narrow. I tried the American Crafts thickers storage pages but they're too narrow, too. Any suggestions? Ideally, I would like to keep it with the collections vs. storing it in a separate place. Today I watched a video of Karen from Yes Please paper crafts. She backed the chipboard with cheap cardstock to keep it from falling out. I wonder if I tried that and just got rid of the plastic packaging? Would chipboard still fall out? Simple Stories chipboard seems to fall out pretty frequently. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW4oO-oJXnk&t=0s

My issue isn't chipboard falling back, but forward. So the paper backing couldn't help.
What about the chipboard stuck to strip of paper that fit in the chipboard ziplock bags? You could pop them out and then add a little adhesive to the back white paper of the chipboard (glue dot?) And then stager them on the paper and slip that into the bag?

When you find a solution, let us know!
I was going through a lot of my supplies today too putting things away from a project, and it took me 4 tries to get a chipboard set put away because pieces were falling out or the backing was coming off! I washi taped the backside of a few pieces as a temporary solution.

...Simple Stories chipboard seems to fall out pretty frequently. This is also my experience. For this reason, I choose to remove all of the chipboard pieces & store in the appropriate Iris 4x6 photo case (with diecuts from the same manufacturer). Perhaps consider also removing chipboard pieces from the sheet, then organizing them in the same way as your diecuts (ie inserted into a smaller cellophane bag that is stored in a stamp pocket). HTH.

This is how I store my chipboard when there isn't much left and I am done working with that line. I pop the shapes out and put them in the photo Iris container. I use those for all my embellishments.

I let the chipboard stay in its little chipboard backing. When it pisses me off enough by falling out all the time (👀 I’m looking at you, Simple Stories) I end up popping all of it out and sorting it into my embellishment cases by color. If an individual piece is very specific to a collection, I’ll put it with the collection but usually just toss it color coordinated too.

I've been working on switching paper collections over to record sleeves, which is working great. Help me out. What are record sleeves? I’m drawing a blank on what you’re talking about.

They’re 12 x 12 clear plastic sleeves with an open top. I used to keep my collections in ziploc bags, but the extra part at the top folded down created a lot of extra bulk. The record sleeves just save space. Hopefully, that makes sense. In the video linked above, Karen shows them a few minutes into the video. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07122C95M/

I take apart chipboard sheets, and put them in snack size baggies by theme. All themed baggies go into a larger 13 x 13 plastic envelope, with the rest of that themes stuff.
I have 30+ themed envelopes. Everything (paper, stickers, embellishment, alphabets, etc...) pertaining to that theme go in there. The envelopes reside in rolling file carts.
Any stickers or embellishments without a theme go into my miscellaneous 3 ring binder, that is filled with full sized and divided pocket sheet protectors. Items that are a part of a group stay together in a pocket, single items are by themselves.
If I have a sheet of stickers, packet of embellishments, sheet of die cuts, paper pads, etc... I sort through them before putting away, discarding (putting in the give away pile) the stuff I won't use.

Do they hold an entire collection pack (meaning just the paper) easily?

I use those sleeves in smaller sizes for my stamps and dies. I didn’t realize they made larger ones. I kept coming across the paper circles for records and figured that’s what you were talking about. Now I need to run upstairs and see if these will fit in my vertical paper storage before I hit buy. Thank you for enabling! 💜

Do they hold an entire collection pack (meaning just the paper) easily? Yes! I discovered Carta Bella collections take up more room because the papers are textured and thicker, but they fit, too. The ones I linked are 3 mil thickness and a little sturdier than the 2 mil ones. They make them 4 mil, too. We’ve been talking about them on another message board and joked that somewhere in an amazon warehouse, someone is wondering why people are buying lots of record sleeves all of a sudden. 😉

I washi taped the backside of a few pieces as a temporary solution. That's smart! I'm going to borrow that idea.

Have you tried using Press N Seal yet? Similar to washi but better.

I keep the chipboard in the plastic (just snip the top edge off) and store them standing in a box. If too many are falling out into the package to where it’s really annoying me I will prioritize using those pieces to get them out of my way. If it’s a piec I’m just not crazy about and can see lingering around forever then I use it as a pop dot or if it’s a piece like a circle that I can add a smaller flat circle sticker to make a layered piece (smaller sticker over the shaped chipboard), again just to use it up.
I’ve fully stepped into this new phase in which I fully believe this hobby needs to spark joy and if any aspects of it are sigh-inducing I will eliminate it. I will not be beholden to annoying chipboard pieces. 😋

chipboard sheets sit in a rolling cart so i can leaf through them. sure the stuff falls out but if i can keep a collection together, i will. if there are enough stragglers, i will put them in a baggie.
