I retired in March after 33 years with employer. There were/are 3 positions in the department and I have held all three!

I just racked up 23 years in March. My previous (and first full time) job was just over 12 years.

My first "big girl" job was just over 3 years in the same position; where I work now, just over 4 years (about 9 months in one position, promoted and had that role for 3 1/2 years, and then I got promoted in January to a higher position that is much of what I have been doing for the past 3 1/2, but a few new things with it).

I worked at the same company for 37 years, taking on more responsibility with every project. It wasn't unusual for people to work there 30 years or more. It was a great company with generous profit sharing until we were bought out by a Fortune 500 company. The only good thing about the sale is my stock was purchased for a premium, adding to my retirement fund. Most of my peers quit within a few years. Happy anniversary, KelleeM.

I worked at my hospital for 31 years, 1987-2018. I then retired. I was in the same unit (CVICU) for 30 years. I still dream about my unit and the people I worked with. Janet I still dream about my old unit and co-workers too! It's so weird. But, they were a huge part of my life for 15 years.

Wow, lots of longevity here. I’ve worked at my current job in the same position for 21 years. Today is my last day, for I am retiring. I’ve been a professional librarian since 1981.

Before being furloughed beginning of the pandemic, I was with my company (retail) almost 14 years. Seven years, the retail store before that. My dd has been teaching at the same elementary school for 23 years. But she has been getting burned out recently because of all the chances. She is retiring in 2 years. At least from teaching.

I have been at my current job, self employed, for almost 12 years now.
I lasted 2 years at an office, did the nanny thing for 2 years, then had my own kids so stayed home and dabbled in a few home businesses. I did Pampered Chef for a while and did fairly well, and then had an LSS with a friend. We closed and I worked retail for a couple years, then worked a 3 day a week office job. After being laid off from that job I went into cake full time.
And according to my tax return this year, I have more than tripled the income I made working 3 days a week in the office. (And owe the taxes to prove it ugh)

18 years for me. Technically the same “job” but over the years I’ve added responsibilities and even added a couple new employees to supervise. Not really “promotions” per se because I was never stepping into a vacated position. Just adding more complex duties and giving up some of the beginner ones.
