I'm (finally) back with another project of the week!
I hope this page gives you that "wow!" feeling like it does me. I have this page saved;
AussieMeg brought it to my attention a few weeks ago as one of her favourites too!
Love You by
Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr
Looking closely, here is what inspires me:
1. page divided into thirds diagonally
2. clean white centre block separates the big bold pattern of the other two thirds, and helps the photos not get lost
3. elements tucked under the photo mat, over the photos, and in between the photo mat and photos
4. block of photos on a double photo mat
5. black and white flowers and leaves that provide a nice contrast to the bold pattern and coloured flowers
6. title element (square "I love you") is the only thing on the page not on an angle
7. the bold monochromatic pattern
Specifically picking out challenges for the peas I suggest:
1. divide your page into thirds in any direction, and use a strong pattern or colour in 2 of the thirds
2. place all elements on a diagonal except for one element of your choice
3. create a monochromatic page
4. use at least 6 photos on a double mat
5. use black and white "sketchy"/outline elements in your embellishments (such as the leaves and flowers, but you could choose plain circles/rectangles, or something like butterflies, or uncoloured stamped images)
6. fussy cut elements from paper or stamped images
7. tuck items into/under at least 3 different "layers" of your project
If you are on a challenge team, you can claim 10 points if you use 2 of these jumping-off points on any project.
