Is it just me or is May super early for Christmas collections to be debuted? We’re still closer to Christmas 2021 than Christmas 2022. I’m just trying to finish driving spring, third graders with summer fever, and graduation. I don’t want to see Christmas nor fall for another month at least. I could be (and probably am) quite wrong and this is when they usually come out.
Second follow up question…Vicki Boutin has two Christmas collections in consecutive years? Wow! Isn’t that practically unheard of with AC?

Is it just me or is May super early for Christmas collections to be debuted? It's normal. Last year we had our first reveal in mid-May. This year, Simple Stories debuted first and that was in mid-April. I think brands may have been extra careful this time around after the manufacturing + shipping delays the pandemic brought on in 2020 and 2021. But we're quite on schedule. I know it always seems super early but the release calendar usually dictates we have the Halloween and Christmas threads up in May. Second follow up question…Vicki Boutin has two Christmas collections in consecutive years? Wow! Isn’t that practically unheard of with AC? I think AC is looking to VB's audience for their second Christmas line. Crate Paper is their solid brand for offering an annual Christmas/festive winter line these days. They used to have their other brands on rotation (Heidi Swapp, Pink Paislee, Pebbles) and their own AC-branded collection. Nowadays, it's just CP left and VB got the second slot it would seem. It must mean her lines sell well. I wouldn't be surprised if Heidi Swapp had another Christmas line next year or the year after. It's definitely an interesting development to watch. I wonder when they'll grant a Christmas line to Paige Evans, Maggie Holmes or Jen Hadfield.

Vicki Boutin has two Christmas collections in consecutive years? Wow! Isn’t that practically unheard of with AC? Back when Shimelle was designing for them she said they cycle through their designers for a Christmas collection each year, but do they have many designers left? I would guess that Vicki's collection last year sold really well. It certainly sounded like people on the boards loved it.

I was really surprised that she got a second collection. I love Vicki B lines (reminds me of Basic Grey), so I stocked up on the last collection thinking it would never happen again, or at least not for a long time. I did notice that the release is funny, only 12 open stock papers, but 24 in the pad. If the pad were a better quality I would pick it up, but I find the colours really off in AC paper pads. At least this way I am limited in what I will buy.
