For the first time we are renting a house in the mountains for just under a month and I would like to bring some project life supplies so that I can work on it while I am there. I have a PM-400 printer I plan to bring and thinking I will bring my PP and AE monthly PL kits, but would love any advice from folks who have done this before. I just know I will enjoy spending time capturing memories while I am there, but have never taken supplies with me anywhere before.
Thanks

We have a small campervan and take trips every year that are 2-3 weeks long. I bring a small tupperware bin that is about 6X10" and 3" tall. I fit all my supplies in there. Just a roll or two of washi, small scissors, 3-4 markers/pens, double-sided tape, glue stick. Whatever your go-to supplies are. Definitely I have a date stamp, one ink pad for that (a small one). I have a ziploc bag of stickers and die cuts. I have another of embellishments. I have a zipper pouch with paper and cards in it. I usually store it in an album. I do travel journals in the simple stories snap binders and there is this place in the van where it fits perfectly.
The most important thing is to pick a color scheme and stick to it.
Also, if I want to punch a 2" circle out of something, I will stick it in a pocket with a sticky note and do that when I get home. I don't want to carry punches or anything heavy.
I usually print photos when I come home. So I keep an album on my phone where I put all the photos. Then in the pocket pages I have sticky notes with descriptions of the photos I want to use in each space.
Once I get home everything comes together really quickly. In these cases I usually print at Walgreens since everything is ready.
I don't do anything digital in these. It's all old school. I save lots of embellishments along the way and use as much as possible. I love making smashed pennies, saving receipts, postcards, etc.
I do bring a hole punch so I can stick that stuff right in as I go.

Will be watching this thread. We have a cabin that we're trying to convert from "guys' hunting hangout" to a place where DH and I can spend time. I'd be more enthusiastic about it if I can bring some scrappy stuff along!

If I bring anything while I travel, it is usually some type of project or kit. It can usually fit one one or two Iris containers. For a month of vacation, I might bring page kits and create pages. I'd bring sticky notes so I could remind myself to add specific things I didn't bring. If you have punches, you could bring a baggie of scraps and make some embellishments.

I take nothing but a camera. I am way too busy doing things to even consider scrapping. I do like to see if there are any SS's I could visit.

I can totally understand why you'd want to take scrapping stuff with you, if you're going for nearly a month. Even if you are out and about busy doing stuff during the day, you're still going to have a lot of downtime at night when you can scrap.
I think that I would do some of the things that others have already mentioned: ~ Choose a colour scheme and take only papers and embellishments in those colours. ~ Take basic supplies such as tape, scissors, paper trimmer, pens etc. ~ After you've been out and about every day, look the photos you've taken that day and decide which ones you want to scrap, and what sizes you want the photos to be. ~ Make your pages with the paper and embellishments you've brought along. ~ If you don't want to take your printer, you could just cut out photo sized pieces out of plain A4 paper or a notebook, and tack them down on your pages, writing on each one what the actual photo is. Then when you get home you can print the photos and stick them down on your completed pages.

I've only ever worked on traveler's notebook type books while traveling. I fit everything into a large pouch, as to not take too much. So only a traveler notebook, instax printer/cord, a few relative sticker sheets, die cuts, washi tape, tape runner, pens/markers, small watercolor paint set, empty water brush.
I would sit on the lanai in the morning after breakfast and relax while painting things I see...skyline, ocean, birds, cocktails, etc. I would incorporate those ideas into my scrapped pages instead of relying on supplies. Some of my favorite pages/documentation are very imperfect, hand drawn images.
I also incorporate a lot of ephemera along the way and washi tape is good for tacking things down that you may want to move around later.
For busier, touristy trips, I try to make notes in my phone at the end of everyday to remember sites, conversations, meals, songs heard, funny anecdotes, etc.
My biggest reminder for any sort of scrap traveling is to remember charging cords, multi-outlet plugs with space for extra usb ports. With phones and other devices seems like you can never have enough.
