How do you make time to craft when the weather is nice? I find now that the sun has finally arrived in Wisconsin I've been so busy I haven't been in my craft room for weeks. I have all these new projects whispering my name... but can't quite find the time.
Any tips on how you find time?

living in sunny Los Angeles, sunshine is not the incentive for me to craft. for me, finding the time means integrating it only my (almost) daily routine. i will usually do it from the time i get home until DH gets home and sometimes on sundays when we are working in our separate home offices for a little bit.

Also a southern Ca pea. Here the weather can be an incentive because I have no desire to be out in 95+ degree weather unless I am in the pool. And that is only a hour or so.
My incentive is it keeps me off of my phone and that in turn helps with my stress, anxiety, and overall mental health. I didn't get on for 4 days and was able to crank out quite a bit of pocket page layouts.
I kind of schedule it into my day. On Tuesday and Thursday dd has one college class and that is almost 2 hours. So I will scrap in the evening if I am up to it.
I scrap some Wednesday's during her IgG infusion. We are at a place where I can go up to the loft at the top of the stairs while she is downstairs and I can haul butt if she needs me. She plays video games and hangs out on her phone.
Friday, Sat, and Sun are my biggest scrap days. I make sure I get things done in the morning and then early afternoon till evening I scap/craft.
As a mom to 2 medically complex teens with various needs, therapies, and appointments, I have found that carving out blocks of me time works best. And I prioritize what should come first. For me, that is housework/chores, family time, then craft time. And I dont feel jipped because everyone is getting equal time.

I live in Milwaukee so I can relate. I have two small kids so going to retreats seems to be the only way I can get anything done and unfortunately they dry up in the summer. Summer is busy so my projects usually have to wait until my fall retreats. 😞 I have no tips.

I'm an indoor cat living in the gloomy PNW. The sun gives me energy but does not call me to go outside and do things, for the most part, and our spring/summer is quite different from yours.
I have several different projects/hobbies/tasks in my life and in any given week I find that if I focus on 2 or 3 then the others get neglected. One week I might do really well on gardening, cooking, and digital scrapping but make zero cards, and the next week I make 100 cards but eat the same meal 5 nights in a row. Sewing comes along once in a blue moon, crochet I can do all the time because I have linked that with evening TV watching.
Summer sounds like a busy outdoors time for you. Maybe that won't last all summer but for now it's probably just the "season" you're in. Besides scheduling yourself some time in the odd hours, early in the morning or late at night perhaps, crafting while you're doing other things, or scheduling a crop, I would just wait until the heat/bugs drive you back indoors or the rhythms of life shift again.

For me, signing up for a class helps me plan a specific time to craft. Otherwise it's mostly when I need it mentally. Any time I can touch my craft stuff, whether it be organizing or actually creating, its a huge escape and stress relief. You'd think for the amount of supplies I buy, I craft ever day but I don't.

I have to make it a priority, and sometimes real life, and special needs son gets in the way! It is a difficult balance!

Right now I am fighting the good weather. And sadly, scrapbooking is losing. We have a smallish window of when its not too cold, too windy or too hot and that window is right now. So I have been doing other things besides scrapbook. When it gets to staying over 100 degrees, I will come back in and scrapbook. Thats usually June-mid Sept.

good weather for me (FL) is early spring/late fall not summer - I do more hobby stuff in the summer while I avoid the heat. But like joblackford said - I have several hobbies/projects and sometimes it's just not a scrapbooking season for me and I'll go a couple of week or a couple of months without doing any. After dinner is a good time for me to find crafty time during good weather/busy seasons - but I'm a night owl. Early mornings might work better if you're a lark.

It is hard for sure. Having a small space where I can leave projects out helps. That way, if I can grab 15 minutes or half an hour I can at least spend some time working on it. This is our short season of nice weather too, so there is lots to do outside. Usually when my partner goes out to do something, or is watching something on his own, I make a point of spending a bit of time scrapbooking. It's good for me--I find it very relaxing and it gives me the quiet time I crave, so I tend to make a point of doing it at least for a bit each week.

Another WI girl here and with gardening starting it’s been tough here too. Having a dedicated space for crafting helps a lot. I often sneak away for a little in the afternoon when my kids are taking their creative time. Another thing I try to do is have pictures and such pre edited or printed already. Making kits with LO ideas helps too.

For me, weather isn't a factor.
My spare time ebbs and flows based on multiple things (work, errands, household chores, responsibilities, obligations, my energy level, etc...). My spare time changes daily, some days are busy, some are slow.
When I have extra time, I fill that time differently depending on what I feel like doing. I scrapbook, read, browse social media, go out and about, do home projects, catch up with friends, watch a movie, etc... I tend to scrapbook in spurts. I will do it everyday for a month, then not touch it for a couple/few months.

I love the sun. I get giddy when it starts warming up and just want to sit outside drinking cocktails all the time. For me I slow down a lot in summer. I do however have a pretty good Saturday morning routine going where I scrapbook for about 2 hours while drinking coffee. I’m really a morning person so this helps me keep motivated and feels like a treat. I also ocasssionally will go down there before work and sneak in 30 minutes.

I have started doing this too, there is just too much evening stuff going on and weekend stuff too, especially in the summer that early morning is the best time. Plus DH likes to sleep in, so he is not wanting to do this or that. This previous Saturday I scrapbooked from 7am to 9am! Edited to add today I scrapbooked for my whole lunch hour, at work! (caught the Shimelle live)

I feel like I have "seasons" for my many hobbies just like the weather. Right now I'm spending more time outside gardening (could also be due to moving to a "new" house). Once it turns hotter and more humid I will be staying indoors more and back to scrapbooking and card making. Then this fall I will probably be outside more. Once winter hits I may quilt or crochet along with the paper crafting. I've just learned not to stress over it as long as I'm enjoying the way I'm spending my free time. It really is ok to have multiple hobbies.

I understand. I love being outside in good weather. What works for me is scheduling my scrap time and I try really hard to protect that time because it seems like it's my only time alone. Besides that maybe you could think about things you can do in short periods of time. Also, maybe evenings would work for you.

I think this is another reason I like to do WITL during summer (besides the photos are usually better) it gets me really excited to scrapbook and doing some sort of documenting during that time. I might try to do some PL app & digital photo organizing on my deck this summer. We need a Wisco summer retreat “Coffee & Cocktails” 😂

I'm not an outdoorsy person. I'd rather play inside. So for me, it's the opposite problem. I'm always having to find the time to go outside.

I scrap pretty much every day. Because I do digital scrapping, I scrap on my MacBook, so I have a lot more flexibility. Every night after dinner I turn my MacBook on and will play around while I'm watching TV. When I used to paper scrap, I would do it in my study / craft room, which meant I was away from the family. This way I can still be hanging out with them AND scrapping at the same time.
In summer I spend a lot more time outdoors and away from home. But I still manage to scrap at night.
The rest of my family go to bed quite early, between 8:30pm and 9:30pm usually. I am more of a night owl, and I am usually up until midnight or later. So that gives me a good 2-3 hours of "me time" most nights.

I tend to do more scrapbooking during our cold and dark Minnesota winters. I do try to set aside time after dinner most nights.

It really is ok to have multiple hobbies. This is me too. I feel no guilt about doing things seasonally, if I so choose. I figure I will catch up when I get to it. With scrapbooking, it is hard for me because I've got to put stuff away when I'm done. My craft room doubles as my office and I'm working in there on the regular. So I either have to haul my stuff to the dining room or make sure I clean everything in my office up when I'm done. Makes me not want to scrapbook unless I have a whole day set aside to do it. And in the summer, unless we are having a really rainy day, it just doesn't happen so much.

I moved my craft room from the basement to the main level - I turned our home office into it. I go in there so much more now. I even scrapbook at night, which I didn't like doing before because I didn't like being in the basement at night. It was dark and cold and lonely.
It helps that my husband goes to be at 8 - I go in the new scrap room now and scrapbook until 10 or so.
My son also left home and moved halfway across the world for school, and that freed up a lot more time than I expected. I feel so blue over being empty nesters that scrapbooking our photos helps lift my mood and makes him feel closer.

Sometimes I don’t. If being outside is a better thing right now then so be it.
I scrap in the evenings after work. Weekend afternoons when it’s too hot out or too cold depending on the season. I’m usually an early morning outside person.
Oh, since I work I still have a schedule and I do actually put blocks of time in my schedule for crafting. I label them creativity session lol

We've been working on our house and yard since we moved in October. We'd been at the previous house for 33 years, so there wasn't a lot to do. I feel like I am neglecting my room right now. I have to laugh because I have planted 4 different areas of the yard and today was 86 degrees. As I was driving home from Denver sweating, I got an emergency weather forecast (has been fire alerts for the last 2 months). This one is for a snowstorm expecting anywhere from 5-18 inches of snow! So my weekend birthday plans of horseback riding could easily turn into hot cocoa and scrapping!
