.... and I am excited to try it! When I was still paper scrapping, I desperately wanted a Silhouette or similar, but they were way out of my budget. Now that I can afford to buy one, I'm no longer paper scrapping. My mum owns a fabric / quilting store, so she bought it mainly to cut paper shapes and also fabric for quilting. I'm going to her house for the weekend, so she wants me to help her set it up. I have NO IDEA, so don't be surprised if I post some HELP questions here haha! I'm not sure whether the model numbers are the same here as in the US. Do you have the SDX1250 there? Maybe it's called something else. 50offscrapper I just did a search and saw that you posted about your new ScanNCut back in March. Now that you've had a couple of months to play with it, are you happier with it? Chinagirl828 do you want anything cut while I'm there? I'm going to take some of my cardstock to play with. Side note: Why the heck does the word 'cardstock' always auto correct to 'car sick' or 'yardstick' on my Mac?!

My advice, if you have problems setting it up, is to go to YouTube. Videos were a big help to me setting up my Cricut.
Have fun playing!

Someone on Victoria Marie's YT video, where she does her first Cricut cuts, said that the Brother scan n cut can supposedly scan metal dies and cut those shapes. That is cool because you can change the size!

I found out that mine had some issues with shadows in my room. If your cuts aren't coming out right, try moving the machine to a more well lit area. I thought that set up was pretty easy overall though.

That's exciting. Even though I have a Silhouette, I'd like to have a SnC. But I'd like to demo one in person first.
Regarding the word cardstock - on a PC you can highlight the word, right click, then click "Add to dictionary" so it doesn't auto-correct. Maybe the same for a Mac???

Thanks for the offer AussieMeg, but I'm good. Not that anyone would know it given how infrequently I use it, but I have a cameo. Have a great weekend at your mum's!

Thanks for the tips and links everyone! Regarding the word cardstock - on a PC you can highlight the word, right click, then click "Add to dictionary" so it doesn't auto-correct. Maybe the same for a Mac??? Thanks, I will try that next time it happens. It's working fine now, of course, when I want it to error so I can fix it. Off topic, but I once ordered 10,000 sheets of yardstick from American Crafts. Luckily, our rep figured out the translation. 😁😉😂 That's hilarious!! I'm glad it's not just me.

I still like the Cricut for certain things but the time I save fussy cutting stamped images and printables is worth it.
