So I got my 5 year old a Godzilla action figure and for the life of me, I could not get the tail onto the main part of the body (it uses a ball joint to connect). I probably struggled for a solid 20 minutes before turning to the Internet for help, lol.
It turns out, you can use a hair dryer to heat up the tail end where the ball joint enters and it should work. Well, I couldn't find my hair dryer. But my little heat gun for embossing worked great and saved the day (as did YouTube)! I have also used craft glue and washi tape and other assorted crafty stuff to (temporarily) repair broken toys.
Anyone else have any fun stories of putting craft tools/supplies to use in non-crafty ways?

Nice! My husband has borrowed my heat tools for all kinds of things! I do have to remind him each time that the Wagner one is powerful - it melted a little bit of the fake chrome on our car when he used it for something to do with replacing or repairing a headlamp. I think he used the Tim Holtz one for warming the carpet tile he was laying in a chilly basement early in spring. We have a few tools that we share for household reapir and crafty use but I can't think of any really good ones now.

I like to use my WRMK piercer for my hair, lol! I wear my hair in braids a lot and when I'm wrapping the rubber band around my braids, I usually do so about 4 times. I'm not always great at getting them to lay over each other, so sometimes I'll have parts of hair sticking out between each "layer" so instead of taking the rubber band out, I use my WRMK piercer to pick up the bands that aren't lining up and move them up to where they should be.

I permanently stole my Elizabeth Craft tweezers to keep in my bathroom to remove the occasional much-hated chin hair that is occuring more than it used to. I tried quite a few but that’s the best when I can’t see what I’m doing because now my eyes are worse too. Joy.

We're painting, and for the trim and really small areas we're currently using 2 of my really good paint brushes (especially the big flat one I have for putting water down on watercolour backgrounds). They'll never be the same. My t-square, my copics, my paint, my glues, my piercers and exacto - they've all been used for household chores and repairs.
Bleach stain on a favourite shirt/pants? Copics to the rescue.

I use my Cricut spatula to get under stickers to peel them off.

I bought a dresser from IKEA with a brown-black finish. I had most of it assembled when I discovered the edge of one of the boards wasn't stained. They just missed that side. So I grabbed all my brown ink pads and markers and came up with a pretty good match
