I was wondering how y’all keep track of sentiments. I was making a graduation card and looking for something along the lines of, “You did it!” Flipping through all my stamp sets looking for something that I wasn’t even sure existed in my collection was frustrating to say the least.
How do y’all do it? Do you have a system or do you just flip through every time? I have stamp sets sorted by theme but don’t have a category for graduation or achievements. Has anyone set up a spreadsheet with this?

I use an app called ColorMyLife. You can add a photo of your product manually or by scanning the barcode (stamp, die, stencil, etc) then add the manufacturer, where it's stored and tag words. I put in all the sayings of the stamp or design. For example if the stamp set has a grad cap, I'd put "grad cap" in tag section. Then you can search by tag words, or product type, or manufacture. I have a lot of stamp sets and it keeps me from digging through all of them.
It does require some time and work entering them, but I think it's worth it. I use my phone microphone to add all the tag words. Much easier.
BTW, I have no affliation to this app, it was recommended here by a pea a couple of years ago.

I have a binder where I keep a photocopy of all my stamp sets and sort them by category. I have a sentiments category as well as a separate birthday and Christmas, so something like graduation would be in the general category, but I would still have to flip through all the pages.

I'm not that organized so I would have to flip thru or just buy something new 🤣.
I do have the WeRMemories letter bunch board or the good old Dymo punch label maker and I can create something specific that I want.

How do y’all do it? Do you have a system or do you just flip through every time? I have stamp sets sorted by theme but don’t have a category for graduation or achievements. Has anyone set up a spreadsheet with this? I have a Google Doc where I track all my stamp sets and the headers are: Manufacturer, name, theme, word/phrases, images, "good for", typeSo a stamp set might look like this: Unity Stamp, Funny Farm, birthday/silly/farm, Birthday/Funny farm/aw shucks, cow/chicken/sheep, birthday/Hello/animal lovers, red rubber
I abbreviate the words/phrases because I don't want to type them all out, but I put in enough that I can do a Control-F and type "birthday" and all the ones that have birthday come up. I catalogue them as soon as I get them home. I have (eek) 338 sets. I also shared my google doc with my mom in case my computer crashes/I get locked out of email and I need it back lol. I did NOT share it with DH. I do the same for individual stamps. If I don't know the info, (like some stamps are so old, I don't know the manufacturer) I just put a ? in the spot.

lilacgal I just for fun did a control-F in my doc for Graduation. I found: ?,?, Graduation, Congrats/Graduate/Way to Go, Grad hat/tassel, graduation/wedding, clear
So I have a grad hat, I have sayings for graduation and I think I included wedding in there because I have a sentiment that says "congrats" and I also associate that with weddings. Just for fun, I edited the "good for" to include new job and new baby, both things that I could do a congrats for.

Thank you so much for these ideas. I’ve downloaded the app to try out. I like the photocopy idea too. I knew the Peas could help!

I use EverNote. I think it’s similar to ColorMyLife. You add a photo and tags and then can search by tag.

Not for my stamps (now I think I do need one though!) -but for the sentiments for the cricut cartridges I own, way back, I made a spreadsheet. Of course I made it before there was design space where all I have to do now is search there...
Love the app ideas though - and the photo ideas - TFS everyone!

Aother Evernote user here. I'm a big fan of the tags. I can find a stamp in less than 20 seconds.

I’d meant to post that Air Table is another database that looks like a spreadsheet that people use for craft/art supply inventorying that’s supposed to be extremely user friendly. Some Evernote dropouts have found this to be simpler. There are free and paid versions. Here’s a PC Magazine review of it: www.pcmag.com/reviews/airtableSome crafters have videos about how to use it—here’s Julie’s (The Paper Pixie). While she’s Stampin’ Up only, she’s an ace explainer. When wanting to making a cool box I check her channel or blog first. youtu.be/TzW9qa3peh8Caveat: I don’t use any of the databases but if I did it would likely be Air Table.
