I am having a helluva time trying to find reading glasses that are full frame (meaning not the ones you look over the top of) with no magnification at the top of the lens. Most of what I have found has less magnification on top. Any specific suggestions as to where to look? I’ve scrolled through PAGES of Amazon and different websites and even ones that say no magnification have reviews that say it’s a wrong description. I’m already the oldest in my office; I’m trying to avoid the on and off or peering over the top of my glasses.
Thanks for any help.

the eye doctor's office can make them for you. That's what my DH did. (he still doesn't like wearing them, but...)

You want progressive readers.

I priced them out at the office and they are more than I want to spend at the moment considering I want several pair so that I don't have to worry about forgetting them anywhere.

BIFOCALS! Sheesh. I've been so focused on multifocal and progressive that I completely forgot about bifocals! Thank you! :-)

You want progressive readers. I've been searching progressive and multifocal and am having the hardest time finding no magnification on top. Most of what I have found just steps down from section to section and still has magnification on top.

Check out Peepers.com. On the website, search for Progressive lenses. Clear on top and bottom part is readers. I have not tried these but I have had several pairs of their readers.

Most of what I have found just steps down from section to section and still has magnification on top. That is because usually most progressive need both distance and readers made to your eye prescription. Your eye doctor should be able to issue you with progressives with a clear( no adjustment needed for your general/distance vision) lens on top and progressing to magnification( readers) on the bottom.

An eye doctor's office could make exactly what you are looking for.

My DH doesn't wear his all the time, because he's just not used to the phenomenon of wearing glasses (having to turn your head to see correctly instead of looking out of the corner of your eye, loss of peripheral vision, looking thru the proper part of the lens when driving, etc.). So he sticks them in his shirt pocket. And they fall out. A LOT. I keep threatening that I'm going to get him one of those 'old lady' type chains for them, so he can wear them around his neck. lol.

I recently had old school bifocal sunglasses made at Costco with a prescription. The Costco rep told me they didn’t normally like to do bifocals much anymore due to the “line” you can see but it wouldn’t be noticeable barely at all in the darker sunglasses lens. Bifocals are split half in half- the top of my sunglasses I can look around like normal (my distance vision is fine) while the lower part allows me to read while wearing my sunglasses.
I can see how this would also have been great at the office- in person I used to have to use my computer with my glasses and keep putting them on my head to look at clients and talk to them. This doesn’t happen to me now with remote work.
I didn’t want progressives due to the “Learning curve” with them and for my needs with the sunglasses but it could be a good options for you.
I would also like to add in case anyone else was unaware like me, cheaper readers are NOT as good as prescription glasses!! I tried on readers and was like oh great I can see now and figured I was good and used those for a couple years. I recently had actual prescription glasses made and the difference is amazing to me. I will not cheap out on my eyes again! 😂

I’m looking for clear glass on top.

This link has what I’m looking for but yikes on the prices. I may just have my eye doctor make some if I can’t find some like this for cheaper. Thank you for looking!

Those type are the half rim glasses; I want to avoid these. this is the description of the Amazon ones posted above.. DESCRIPTION These clear lens glasses helps you read the fine print with small sections of magnification along the bottom of each lens, while the rest of the lens has no magnification. They are clear on top reader area on bottom. Bifocal means two different viewing areas..

I wear trifocals and the top part (distance vision) is almost nothing. Sams made them for me about 2 years ago. I took the Rx in 10 days ago and the clerk called back to say that they could not make them because the numbers were too low. (funny they had the ability 2 years ago) I now am going to shop around at other opticians.

Sounds like you are looking for plano bifocals. Plano is when the lens has no prescription so you want plano on the top and a reading rx at the bottom. This sounds like a line bifocal would be best for you. I searched plano bifocal reading glasses at Amazon and there are a lot of reasonably priced choices, here's just one example: Glasses. As others have said, this is something your eye doctor could do easily too. The optometrist I worked for made a lot of these for people. They were especially popular because not everyone needs the same power in each eye. Your left eye might be a +1.50 while your right eye could be a +2.00. An eye doctor can make glasses like that that you won't find over the counter.

Thanks for the info and links on the bifocals. I have cheap readers but feel like a bifocal is what I need so I can leave them on. I'm not ready to get them from my eye dr. just yet, but I did order some from amazon.

Seems like you just want cheap readers, not bifocals like most seem to be suggesting. I bought a couple pairs at Target. They're so cheap I leave a pair in each room (I'm at the lowest level and only need them for reading so not about to shell out the $$$ for the optometrist).

My eye surgeon actually told me to get readers from the dollar store.. however I have ventured to other store, although I only paid under $5 so far.. I have gotten very good ones at Big Lots, Ocean State..., Walmart has some nice ones about $20...
